Rapid chromatographic technique for preparative separations with moderate resolution
Abstract:
(11) Potassium ferricyanide has previously been used to convert w'c-1,2-dicarboxylate groups to double bonds. See, for example, L. F. Fieser and M. J. Haddadln, J. Am. Chem. Soc., 86, 2392 (1964). The oxidative dldecarboxylation of 1,2-dlcarboxyllc acids is, of course, a well-known process. See Inter alia (a) C. A. Grob, M. Ohta, and A. Weiss, Helv. Chim. Acta, 41, 1911 (1958); and (b) E. N. Cain, R. Vukov, and S. Masamune, J. Chem. Soc. D, 98 (1969).read more

Photosensitized, energy transfer-mediated organometallic catalysis through electronically excited nickel(II).
TL;DR: Here, excited-state organometallic catalysis via direct photoexcitation is demonstrated via such an activation pathway, and detailed mechanistic studies confirm the role of photosensitization via energy transfer.

Photoredox-catalyzed deuteration and tritiation of pharmaceutical compounds
Yong Yao Loh,Kazunori Nagao,Andrew J. Hoover,David Hesk,Nelo R. Rivera,Steven L. Colletti,Ian W. Davies,Ian W. Davies,David W. C. MacMillan +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a photoredox-mediated hydrogen atom transfer protocol can efficiently and selectively install deuterium and tritium at α-amino sp3 carbon-hydrogen bonds in a single step, using isotopically labeled water (D2O or T2O) as the source of hydrogen isotope.

Direct covalent grafting of conjugated molecules onto Si, GaAs, and Pd surfaces from aryldiazonium salts.

TL;DR: This spontaneous diazonium activation reaction offers an attractive route to highly passivating, robust monolayers and multilayers on many surfaces that allow for strong bonds between carbon and surface atoms with molecular species that are near perpendicular to the surface.

Photoredox α-Vinylation of α-Amino Acids and N-Aryl Amines
Adam Noble,David W. C. MacMillan +1 more
TL;DR: A new coupling protocol has been developed that allows the union of vinyl sulfones with photoredox-generated α-amino radicals to provide allylic amines of broad diversity.

TL;DR: In this article, a compound of formula (I) is defined as an acyl derivative of formula R4-O-C(O)-; a carboxyl of the same type of compound; a thioamide of the compound.
