Abstract
(11) Potassium ferricyanide has previously been used to convert w'c-1,2-dicarboxylate groups to double bonds. See, for example, L. F. Fieser and M. J. Haddadln, J. Am. Chem. Soc., 86, 2392 (1964). The oxidative dldecarboxylation of 1,2-dlcarboxyllc acids is, of course, a well-known process. See Inter alia (a) C. A. Grob, M. Ohta, and A. Weiss, Helv. Chim. Acta, 41, 1911 (1958); and (b) E. N. Cain, R. Vukov, and S. Masamune, J. Chem. Soc. D, 98 (1969).

Titanocene-Catalyzed Pinacol Couplings: Reagent-ControlledTransition-Metal-Catalyzed Radical Reactions

TL;DR: In this paper, the titanocene-catalyzed pinacol coupling of aromatic aldehydes is described, with good yields and high diastereoselectivity under reagent control.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Use of Lewis Acids in Radical Chemistry. Chelation-Controlled Radical Reductions of Substituted α-Bromo-β-alkoxy Esters and Chelation-Controlled Radical Addition Reactions

TL;DR: The radical reduction of a series of α-bromo-β-alkoxy esters under chelation-controlled conditions is reported, suggesting that the monodentate pathway is kinetically favored over the bidentate one.

A facile and regiospecific tritiation of sphingosine: Synthesis of (2S,3R,4E)‐2‐amino‐4‐octadecene‐1,3‐diol‐1‐3H

TL;DR: An easy technique for introduction of tritium into the 1-position of sphingosine was developed, employing regiospecific oxidation of the primary hydroxy group followed by reduction with NaB3H4.

Environmental and economic analysis for selection and engineering sustainable API degenotoxification processes

TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study concerning performance efficiency and sustainable impact of three purification processes for degenotoxification of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) post reaction streams: recrystallization, flash chromatography and organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN).
