Search for heavy resonances decaying into a pair of Z bosons in the ℓ+ℓ-ℓ′ +ℓ′ - and ℓ+ℓ-νν¯ final states using 139 fb - 1 of proton–proton collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2984 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a search for heavy resonances decaying into a pair of Z bosons leading to either an electron or a muon is presented, where the results are interpreted as upper limits on the production cross section of a spin-0 or spin-2 resonance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Test of QCD analytic predictions for the multiplicity ratio between gluon and quark jets

Gideon Alexander, +355 more
- 21 Nov 1996 -
TL;DR: In this article, the first direct test of those calculations is presented, showing that the results are only weakly dependent on a jet finding algorithm, which is in general agreement with the prediction of a recent analytic calculation which incorporates energy conservation into the parton shower branching processes, but is considerably smaller than analytic predictions which do not incorporate energy conservation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of differential cross sections and W+/W− cross-section ratios for W boson production in association with jets at s√=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Morad Aaboud, +2946 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the W boson production cross section and the W$+}$/W$−}$ cross-section ratio, both in association with jets, in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s}=8 $ TeV with the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for long-lived, massive particles in events with a displaced vertex and a muon with large impact parameter in pp collisions at s =13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2930 more
- 01 Aug 2020 -
TL;DR: In this article, a search for long-lived particles decaying into hadrons and at least one muon is presented, where the analysis selects events that pass a muon or missing transverse-momentum trigger and contain a displaced muon track and a displaced vertex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of three-jet production cross-sections in pp collisions at 7 TeV centre-of-mass energy using the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2875 more
TL;DR: In this paper, double-differential three-jet production cross-sections are measured in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV using the ATLAS detector at the large hadron collider.
