Journal ArticleDOI
Heart Rate Control With If Inhibitor, Ivabradine, in Japanese Patients With Chronic Heart Failure - A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Phase II Study.
Hiroyuki Tsutsui,Shin-ichi Momomura,Akira Yamashina,Hisao Ogawa,Hiroaki Shimokawa,Yasuki Kihara,Yoshihiko Saito,Nobuhisa Hagiwara,Hiroshi Ito,Junya Ako,Takayuki Inomata,Takashi Tanaka,Yasushi Kawasaki +12 more
TL;DR: Ivabradine starting at 2.5 or 5mg BID effectively reduced resting HR in Japanese HF patients and could be safer than 5 mg BID, according to dose-adjustment criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beneficial effects of long-acting nifedipine on coronary vasomotion abnormalities after drug-eluting stent implantation: The NOVEL study
Ryuji Tsuburaya,Jun Takahashi,Akihiro Nakamura,Eiji Nozaki,Masafumi Sugi,Yoshito Yamamoto,Tetsuya Hiramoto,Satoru Horiguchi,Kanichi Inoue,Toshikazu Goto,Atsushi Kato,Tsuyoshi Shinozaki,Eiko Ishida,Satoshi Miyata,Satoshi Yasuda,Hiroaki Shimokawa +15 more
TL;DR: These results indicate that DES-induced coronary vasomotion abnormalities still remain an important clinical issue even with the second-generation DES, for which long-acting nifedipine exerts beneficial effects associated with its anti-inflammatory effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical Characteristics of Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction Who Did Not Undergo Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention – Report From the MIYAGI-AMI Registry Study –
Kiyotaka Hao,Jun Takahashi,Kenta Ito,Satoshi Miyata,Taro Nihei,Kensuke Nishimiya,Ryuji Tsuburaya,Yasuharu Matsumoto,Yasuhiko Sakata,Satoshi Yasuda,Hiroaki Shimokawa +10 more
TL;DR: In the current PCI era, various factors, including aging, heart failure on admission and sex differences, are associated with non-performance of primary PCI, which remain to be resolved in order to further improve critical care of AMI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elevated interleukin-1β in pericardial fluid of patients with ischemic heart disease
TL;DR: The results suggest that pericardial concentrations of IL‐1β may reflect the extent of ischemic heart disease and that elevated IL-1β concentrations in pericARDial fluid may also directly promote the process of coronary atherosclerosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disparity of MCP-1 mRNA and Protein Expressions Between the Carotid Artery and the Aorta in WHHL Rabbits: One Aspect Involved in the Regional Difference in Atherosclerosis
Eriko Tanaka,Hiroaki Shimokawa,Hitoshi Kamiuneten,Yasuhiro Eto,Yasuharu Matsumoto,Kunio Morishige,George Koike,Masaru Yoshinaga,Kensuke Egashira,Osamu Tokunaga,Masashi Shiomi,Akira Takeshita +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that in WHHL, the atherosclerosis process, including MCP-1 protein expression, may be reduced in the carotid artery (and possibly in other muscular arteries), accounting in part for the regional resistance to Atherosclerosis.
