Identification of type 2 diabetes loci in 433,540 East Asian individuals

Cassandra N. Spracklen, +111 more
- 28 Jun 2019 -
TL;DR: The largest meta-analysis of East Asian individuals to identify new genetic associations and provide insight into T2D pathogenesis is performed.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Power of Gene-Based Rare Variant Methods to Detect Disease-Associated Variation and Test Hypotheses About Complex Disease

TL;DR: The results imply that tens of thousands of individuals, extensive functional annotation, or highly targeted hypothesis testing will be required to confidently detect or exclude rare variant signals at complex disease loci.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimal designs for two-stage genome-wide association studies.

TL;DR: A strategy for designing cost‐effective two‐stage GWA studies is described and it is shown that the ratio of stage 2 to stage 1 per genotype cost can strongly influence both the optimal design and the genotyping cost of the study.
