Sequencing and Imputation in GWAS: Cost-effective Strategies to Increase Power and Genomic Coverage Across Diverse Populations

TL;DR: For poorly represented populations, sequencing a subset of participants is often most cost-effective, and can substantially increase imputation quality and GWAS power, and for populations that are well‐represented in existing reference panels, array genotyping alone is cost‐effective and well‐powered to detect common‐ and rare‐variant associations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of genome-wide association study results through development of ontology fingerprints

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ontology fingerprints can be used effectively to prioritize genes from GWA studies for experimental validation and identified genes relevant to lipid metabolism from the literature even in cases where such knowledge was not reflected in current annotation of these genes.
