Torrefaction treatment of lignocellulosic fibres for improving fibre/matrix adhesion in a biocomposite

TL;DR: In this paper, a torrefaction treatment was applied to wheat straw fibres in such a way to increase their hydrophobicity, which led to a better fibre/matrix interfacial adhesion in resultant composites prepared by melt-extrusion, as revealed by SEM observations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of oxidized cellulose introduced into ramie fiber by oxidation degumming

TL;DR: In this article, the contents of aldehyde and carboxylate groups in ramie fibers were analyzed and the results showed that aldehydes can be produced from the oxidation reaction of hydrogen peroxide in the degumming process of ramie fiber.

Experimental and numerical analysis of the influence of drill point angle when drilling biocomposites

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the point angle of the drill on the damage generated during drilling of 100% biodegradable composite, using both numerical and experimental approaches, was demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sustainable fragrance cum antimicrobial finishing on cotton: Indigenous essential oil

TL;DR: In this article, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to study the formation of ester bonds between β-cyclodextrin/grafted chitosan and cotton celluloses.
