Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term whole-grain rye and wheat consumption and their associations with selected biomarkers of inflammation, endothelial function, and cardiovascular disease

TL;DR: The results give limited support to the hypothesis that a high WG wheat and rye intake is associated with lower concentrations of common biomarkers of inflammation and CVD that have previously been reported inversely associated with WG intake or an overall healthy lifestyle.
Posted ContentDOI

Adiposity, metabolites, and colorectal cancer risk: Mendelian randomization study

Caroline J. Bull, +96 more
- 20 Mar 2020 -
TL;DR: The results suggest that higher BMI more greatly raises colorectal cancer risk among men, whereas higher WHR more greatly rises CRC risk among women.
Journal ArticleDOI

Overall diet quality and risk of recurrence and progression of non-gallstone-related acute pancreatitis: a prospective cohort study.

TL;DR: In this prospective study of individuals with non-gallstone-related acute pancreatitis, there was no clear association between overall diet quality and risk of recurrent and progressive pancreatic disease.

Identification of multiple risk loci and regulatory mechanisms influencing susceptibility to multiple myeloma

Molly Went, +130 more
TL;DR: An additional GWAS analysis followed by a meta-analysis with existing GWAS and replication genotyping and identify 6 novel risk loci are performed and utilise gene expression, epigenetic profiling and in situ Hi-C data to further the understanding of MM susceptibility.
Journal ArticleDOI

Beyond GWAS of Colorectal Cancer: Evidence of Interaction with Alcohol Consumption and Putative Causal Variant for the 10q24.2 Region.

Kristina M. Jordahl, +92 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that the association with colorectal cancer in 10q24.2/COX15 observed in genome-wide association study is strongest in nondrinkers, and identifies rs1318920 as the putative causal regulatory variant for the region.
