TL;DR: This research presents a novel probabilistic procedure called “spot-spot analysis” that allows for real-time analysis of the response of the immune system to natural disasters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Presence of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps and Citrullinated Histone H3 in the Bloodstream of Critically Ill Patients

TL;DR: Investigation of relationships of the presence of NETs and Cit-H3 with the existence of bacteria in tracheal aspirate, SIRS, diagnosis, WBC count, and concentrations of IL-8, TNF-α, cf-DNA, lactate, and HMGB1 found no significant relationships.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic characterization of blaNDM-harboring plasmids in carbapenem-resistant Escherichia coli from Myanmar.

TL;DR: The results indicate circulation of phylogenetically distinct strains of carbapenem-resistant E. coli with various plasmids harboring blaNDM genes in the hospital.
Journal ArticleDOI

Origin of Circulating Free DNA in Sepsis: Analysis of the CLP Mouse Model

TL;DR: Examining the source of cf-DNA by detecting citrullinated histone H3, a characteristic feature of NET formation, in cecal ligation and puncture- (CLP-)operated mice suggested that elevatedcf-DNA levels during early-phase sepsis may represent a candidate biomarker for the severity ofSepsis and that, contrary to previous findings, cf- DNA is not derived from neutrophils or NETs.
