Journal ArticleDOI

The genetic architecture of the human cerebral cortex

Katrina L. Grasby, +359 more
- 20 Mar 2020 -
TL;DR: Results support the radial unit hypothesis that different developmental mechanisms promote surface area expansion and increases in thickness and find evidence that brain structure is a key phenotype along the causal pathway that leads from genetic variation to differences in general cognitive function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Short time Fourier transformation and deep neural networks for motor imagery brain computer interface recognition

TL;DR: In this article, two kinds of deep learning schemes based on convolutional neural networks (CNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) were proposed for MI-classification.

The genetic architecture of the human cerebral cortex

Katrina L. Grasby, +438 more
- 03 Sep 2018 -
TL;DR: A genome-wide association meta-analysis of brain MRI data from 35,660 individuals with replication in 15,578 individuals found significant enrichment for loci influencing total surface area within regulatory elements active during prenatal cortical development, supporting the radial unit hypothesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of Genetic and Phenotypic Assessments With Onset of Disordered Eating Behaviors and Comorbid Mental Health Problems Among Adolescents.

TL;DR: Longitudinal assessments in this cohort study of a population-based sample of 1623 adolescents indicated that body mass index, neuroticism, impulse control, and addiction-related behaviors at 14 years of age were differentially associated with future disordered eating behaviors and symptoms of depression and generalized anxiety.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of disordered eating behaviors and comorbid depressive symptoms in adolescence: neural and psychopathological predictors

TL;DR: Findings suggest that alterations in frontal brain circuits are part of the shared etiology among eating disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorder, and depression and highlight the importance of a transdiagnostic approach to treating these conditions.
