TL;DR: In this article, the authors find the place of physical exercises' mastering level in structure of 11-13 yrs age boys' motor fitness and find the level of mastering of gymnastic exercises such as forward roll, standing on shoulder blades, vault, and climbing rope.
Abstract: Purpose: to find the place of physical exercises’ mastering level in structure of 11-13 yrs age boys’ motor fitness.Material: in the research 11 yrs age boys (n=58), 12 (n=76) and 13 years age (n=93) participated. Testing program included well-known tests: “Forward roll”, “Backward roll”, “Vault”, ”Climbing rope (three attempts)”, “Bridge”, “Stance on shoulder blades”.Results: By indicators of physical condition 11-13 yrs age boys statistically confidently differ one from another (р<0,001). Level of mastering of gymnastic exercises “Backward roll”, “Vault”, ”Climbing rope (three attempts)”, “Bridge”, “Stance on shoulder blades” with age statistically confidently increases (р<0,001).Conclusions: In factorial structure of motor fitness, level of physical exercises’ mastering has weight 17,5% (11 yrs age), 36,6% (12 years), 28,5% (13 years). Analysis of communities showed that in 11-13 yrs age boys training of motor abilities is effective (if they become a component of mastered motor skills).

TL;DR: In this article, the column densities of CH + and those of molecular, atomic and total hydrogen show large scatter, suggesting there is no relation between abundances of methylidyne cation and hydrogen in any form.
Abstract: Observations of interstellar absorption bands of CH + molecule at 3957 and 4232 A were applied to determine column densities toward 53 stars. The targets were selected because the atomic and molecular hydrogen column densities are published. The data on CH + were acquired using four echelle spectrographs situated in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Spatial relations between column densities of CH + and those of molecular, atomic and total hydrogen show large scatter, suggesting there is no relation between abundances of methylidyne cation and hydrogen in any form.

TL;DR: P cutaneous drainage guided by ultrasonic imaging should be recommended as the first attempt to cure a lymphocele and laparoscopy is a feasible, safe technique that should be used after unsuccessful percutaneous drainage.
Abstract: Background One common complication after kidney transplantation is a lymphocele. The aim of our work was an analysis of incidence of lymphocele and the effectiveness of minimal invasive methods in the management of this complication. Materials and Methods The examined group was consisted of 158 patients (68 female and 90 male) with end-stage renal disease who underwent kidney transplantation. Results Twenty-one patients (13%) developed symptoms of lymphocele after transplantation procedure within an average time of 34 weeks. The clinical symptoms included a decrease in 24-hour urine collection, an increase in plasma creatinine concentration, abdominal discomfort, lymphorrhea with a surgical wound dehiscence, voiding problems of urgency or vesical tenesmus, febrile states, or symptoms of deep vein thrombosis. The following methods were applied with variable efficacy: aspiration with recurrence 75%; percutaneous drainage with 55%, effectiveness; laparoscopic fenestration with 72% satisfactory outcomes (1 patient presented an excessive bleeding after the procedure), and classic surgery with favorable results. Conclusion Percutaneous drainage guided by ultrasonic imaging should be recommended as the first attempt to cure a lymphocele. Laparoscopy is a feasible, safe technique that should be used after unsuccessful percutaneous drainage. A larger series of patients is required to confirm the superiority of minimal invasive methods to the classical approach.

TL;DR: Assessment of the relationship between a sense of coherence (SOC) and pain-coping strategies in chronically ill seniors found individuals with stronger SOC were less prone to catastrophizing and more often declared that they were coping with and could control and reduce pain.
Abstract: Background Given the rising population of the elderly in modern societies, the concern for their good functioning poses a challenge for the 21st century medicine and social services. Senior citizens are at an increased risk of developing chronic conditions, which in turn increase discomfort associated with physiological processes of aging. Sensations of pain have a particular influence on the mentioned discomfort, and pain is prevalent among older people. Therefore, from the perspective of an elderly person and senior care, it is crucial to identify determinants of effective coping with chronic pain. Objectives The aim of the research was to assess the relationship between a sense of coherence (SOC) and pain-coping strategies in chronically ill seniors. A total number of 188 individuals were included in the study, of whom 117 were female subjects and 71 were male subjects, with a mean age of 68.38 (standard deviation [SD] =6.35) years in the studied group. Subjects were sampled based on a diagnosis of a chronic medical illness with chronic pain as one of the major symptoms. Methods The Polish adaptation of the Orientation to Life Questionnaire (SOC-29) to assess an SOC, the Coping Strategies Questionnaire (CSQ) to assess pain-coping strategies, and the visual analog scale (VAS) to assess pain intensity were used in the study. Results and conclusion The mean score of respondents' SOC was 133.44 (SD =24.35). Among most common pain-coping strategies used by the respondents were prayer and hope, and the declaration of coping with pain while redefining pain was the least often used coping strategy in the studied group. Individuals with stronger SOC were less prone to catastrophizing and more often declared that they were coping with and could control and reduce pain.

TL;DR: It was determined that there were significant differences in the levels of cytotoxicity of the analyzed fungi and such statement may not provide grounds for a definite conclusion about the compared species of fungi that display a more cytotoxic effect than others.
Abstract: OBJECTIVES The basic care requirement for patients with weakened immune systems is to create the environment where the risk of mycosis is reduced to a minimum. MATERIAL AND METHODS Between 2007 and 2013 air samples were collected from various wards of a number of hospitals in Krakow, Poland, by means of the collision method using MAS-100 Iso MH Microbial Air Sampler (Merck Millipore, Germany). The air mycobiota contained several species of fungi, and almost 1/3 of it was made up of the species of the Aspergillus genus. Sixty-one strains of species other than A. fumigatus were selected for the research purposes, namely: 28 strains of A. ochraceus, 22 strains of A. niger and 11 strains of A. flavus species. Selected fungi underwent a cytotoxicity evaluation with the application of the MTT colorimetric assay (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5- diphenyltetrazolium bromide). The assay assesses cell viability by means of reducing the yellow tetrazolium salt to insoluble formazan. A semi-quantitative scale for cytotoxicity grading was adopted: low cytotoxic effect (+) with half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) for values ranging from 31.251 cm2/ml to 7.813 cm2/ml, medium cytotoxic effect (++) for values ranging from 3.906 cm2/ml to 0.977 cm2/ml and the high one (+++) for values ranging from 0.488 cm2/ml to 0.061 cm2/ml. The absence of cytotoxicity was determined when the IC50 values was at ≥ 50. RESULTS For 48 samples the analyzed fungi displayed the cytotoxic effect with A. ochraceus in 26 out of 28 cases, with 11 strains displaying the high cytotoxic effect. The lowest cytotoxicity was displayed by fungi of A. niger in 13 out of 22 cases, and the major fungi of A. flavus species were toxic (9 out of 11 cases). CONCLUSIONS A half of the fungi displayed the low cytotoxic effect. On the basis of the comparison of average cytotoxicity levels it was determined that there were significant differences in the levels of cytotoxicity of the analyzed fungi. However, such statement may not provide grounds for a definite conclusion about the compared species of fungi that display a more cytotoxic effect than others.
