TL;DR: In the analysis of contemporary capitalism, it is important to combine neoliberalism (the strengthening of the power of the capitalist class, in a new phase) and imperialism (the exploitation of peripherical countries).
Abstract: In the analysis of contemporary capitalism, it is important to combine neoliberalism (the strengthening of the power of the capitalist class, in a new phase) and imperialism (the exploitation of peripherical countries). The contradictions of this newsocial order are numerous: first, the resistances that it fosters, then the desquilibria evident, in particular, in the United States. But imperialism at the age of neoliberalism also manifests itself in a new configuration particularly favorable to this country: the export of capitals and the financing of the US economy by the rest of the world. In the United States, this era can also be characterized by the new configuration of class alliances at the top of the social hierarchy : big capitalist owners and top managers. This consolidation manifests itself in the ongoing drift to the right, when the necessity of a compromise uniting managers and popular classes, as in the Keynesian compromise, is urgent.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study parameter estimation from the sample X, when the objective is to maximize the expected value of a criterion function, Q, for a distinct sample, Y. They show that the asymptotically efficient estimator is defined from a likelihood function in conjunction with Q. The theoretical results are illustrated with two applications comprising asymmetric loss and multi-step forecasting.
Abstract: We study parameter estimation from the sample X, when the objective is to maximize the expected value of a criterion function, Q, for a distinct sample, Y. This is the situation that arises when a model is estimated for the purpose of describing other data than those used for estimation. The motivated for much estimation has this form, with forecasting problems being a prime example. A natural estimator is the innate estimator that maximizes Q(X;\theta.) wrt. \theta. While the innate estimator has certain advantages, we show that the asymptotically efficient estimator is defined from a likelihood function in conjunction with Q. The likelihood-based estimator is, however, fragile, as misspecification is harmful in two ways. First, the likelihood-based estimator may be inefficient under misspecification. Second, and more importantly, the likelihood approach requires a parameter transformation that depends on the truth, causing an improper mapping to be used under misspecification. The theoretical results are illustrated with two applications comprising asymmetric loss and multi-step forecasting, respectively.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of caffeine administration on performance time, cognition, psychomotor state, and blood levels of oxidative stress markers following a 3-km run competition were assessed.
Abstract: The current study aimed to assess the effects of caffeine administration on performance time, cognition, psychomotor state, and blood levels of oxidative stress markers following a 3-km run competition. Thirteen recreational runners performed two test sessions in a double-blind randomized order after placebo or 3 mg/kg of body mass of caffeine. At each session, subjects completed a 3-km running competition around a 400 m outdoor athletics track. Cognitive tasks (attention and reaction time), psychological tests (Feeling scale and Hooper), and blood collection were carried out before and after the run. In comparison with placebo, caffeine ingestion enhanced the 3-km performance time by 1.1% (p

TL;DR: In this paper, a stochastic particle method was proposed to compute the first-order moments of the statistical solutions, obtained by approximating the conditional expectations by wavelet regression estimators and established a convergence rate that improved the ones obtained for existing methods with Nadaraya-Watson kernel estimators.
