Prostaglandin chemistry—V : Synthesis of new prostaglandin synthons; 4(R)-(+)- and 4(S)-(−)-t-butyldimethylsiloxycyclopent-2-en-1-one

TL;DR: Optically active prostaglandin intermediates, 4(R )-(+)- and 4( S )-(−)-hydroxycyclopent-2-en-1-one derivatives, were synthesized from 3( R ),5( R )-diacetoxycyclopent -1-ene, 3 ( R ) -acetoxy-5 (R )-hydroxy-cyclopent 1-ene and 3( S ),5 (S )-Dihydroxy-cyclopent-1 -ene obtained by microbiological hydrolysis of 3,5
Journal ArticleDOI

Enantioselective synthesis of an all-syn four vicinal fluorine motif.

TL;DR: A stereoselective synthesis of an all-syn four vicinal fluorine motif as a single enantiomer is reported, and the resulting structure displays gauche relationships between all four fluorines, consistent with the fluorine gauche effect, and CF...HC hydrogen bonding between adjacent fluoroalkyl chains.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of C ? C bonds by mandelonitrile lyase in organic solvents

TL;DR: The enzymatic reaction was carried out under conditions where the importance of the spontaneous reaction was negligible and high enantiomeric purity of D‐mandelonitrile was achieved (at least 98% enantiomersic excess).
Journal ArticleDOI

Observations on Sn-Li exchange in α-aminoorganostannanes and the configurational stability of non-stabilized α-aminoorganolithiums

TL;DR: The α-aminoorganolithiums formed are configurationally stable for short times at low temperatures as mentioned in this paper and can be trapped with electrophiles if the amine moiety contains a methoxyethyl group.
