A transketolase-based synthesis of (+)-exo-brevicomin

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors synthesize the beetle pheromone (+)- exo -brevicomin using a combination of chemical and enzymatic steps, using the commercially available enzyme transketolase (EC 2.2.1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct 1H NMR assay of the enantiomeric composition of amines and β-amino alcohols using o-acetyl mandelic acid as a chiral solvating agent

TL;DR: The chiral solvating agent (R )-O-Acetyl Mandelic Acid (ROAM) is an effective agent for the direct 1H NMR assay of the enantiomeric composition of amines and amino-alcohols as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Baker’s yeast-mediated enantioselective synthesis of the bisabolane sesquiterpenes (+)-curcuphenol, (+)-xanthorrhizol, (−)-curcuquinone and (+)-curcuhydroquinone

TL;DR: The Enantiopure 6a-c is a chiral building block for the synthesis of bisabolane sesquiterpenes and their usefulness is shown in the preparation of (S)-(+)-curcuphenol, (S)(−)-curcuquinone and (S )-(+))-curcuhydroquinone.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of shift reagent with diastereomeric MTPA esters for determination of configuration and enantiomeric purity of secondary carbinols in 1H NMR spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the relative magnitude of the lanthanide induced shift (LIS) for 1 H NMR spectra of the OMe group of diastereomeric (R )-(+)-α-methoxy-α-trifluoromethylphenylacetate esters [( R )-(+))-MTPA esters (3 )] of thirty-two secondary carbinols have been measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chiral biarylamido/anisole complexes of yttrium in enantioselective aminoalkene hydaroamination/cyclisation

TL;DR: A group of chiral, dibasic, biaryl-bridged amido proligands containing peripheral methoxyphenyl (anisole) ligation are developed for the synthesis of new amide complexes of yttrium and lanthanum, consistent with low rigidity in the molecular structure.
