Journal ArticleDOI

Emerging Methods for the rapid determination of enantiomeric excess

TL;DR: Methods for enantiomeric excess determination using a variety of spectroscopic techniques are summarized and particular attention is paid to techniques that have promise for application to problems of combinatorial catalyst discovery but have not yet been employed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enantioselective Synthesis of Optically Active Pyridine Derivatives and C2-Symmetric 2,2′-Bipyridines

TL;DR: Optically active pyridine derivatives 2, 15, 18, 19, 21, 26, and 27 were obtained by enantioselective reduction of the corresponding ketones 5, 7, 11-13, 24, and 25 using the chiral borane reagent chlorodiisopinocampheylborane [(Ipc)2BCl] as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reductive ring openings of allyl-alcohol epoxides

TL;DR: Red-Al reduction of allyl-alcohol epoxides was shown to yield 1,3-diols in high regioselectivity as discussed by the authors, while DIBAL reduction yielded 1,2-dioxiols.
