TLDR
By serial subcloning, a near-haploid subclone (P1-55) is isolated from a heterogeneous human leukemia cell line, KBM-7, which has approximately half the human diploid DNA content and has a haploid karyotype except for a disomy of chromosome 8.

Haploid Genetic Screens in Human Cells Identify Host Factors Used by Pathogens

TL;DR: Using insertional mutagenesis to develop a screening method to generate null alleles in a human cell line haploid for all chromosomes except chromosome 8, host factors essential for infection with influenza and genes encoding important elements of the biosynthetic pathway of diphthamide, which are required for the cytotoxic effects ofdiphtheria toxin and exotoxin A are identified.

Caspase-mediated cleavage of phospholipid flippase for apoptotic phosphatidylserine exposure

TL;DR: Using a haploid genetic screen in human cells, it is found that ATP11C and CDC50A are required for aminophospholipid translocation from the outer to the inner plasma membrane leaflet; that is, they display flippase activity.

Obligate ligation-gated recombination (ObLiGaRe): custom-designed nuclease-mediated targeted integration through nonhomologous end joining.

TL;DR: ObLiGaRe is described, a new method for site-specific gene insertions that uses the efficient NHEJ pathway and acts independently of HR, and has enabled us to insert a 15-kb inducible gene expression cassette at a defined locus in human cell lines.

Stable Haploid Cultured Cell Lines from frog Embryos

TL;DR: These two haploid cell lines have been established from androgenetic embryos of the frog, Rana pipiens and are exceptional in their ability to compete successfully with the diploid variants which arise by endomitosis or cell fusion and which usually overgrow the haploid population.

Near-haploid acute lymphoblastic leukemia: a unique subgroup with a poor prognosis?

TL;DR: Teenage girls with acute lymphoblastic leukemia whose leukemia cells were near-haploid may represent a unique subgroup of ALL with a poor prognosis, and cytogenetic analysis and flow cytometric analysis of DNA content are included in initial evaluation of patients with ALL.

Ph-positive chronic myeloid leukemia with near-haploid conversion in vivo and establishment of a continuously growing cell line with similar cytogenetic pattern

TL;DR: Cytogenetic studies revealed the presence of two near-haploid cell populations with +8 and +8, +15, respectively, both of them containing the translocation t(9;22) in the original tumor cell sample.
