Clinical practice guidelines for the management of non-specific low back pain in primary care: an updated overview

Multidisciplinary biopsychosocial rehabilitation for subacute low back pain among working age adults.

TL;DR: There was moderate scientific evidence showing that multidisciplinary rehabilitation, which includes a workplace visit or more comprehensive occupational health care intervention, helps patients to return to work faster, results in fewer sick leaves and alleviates subjective disability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heritability of low back pain and the role of disc degeneration

TL;DR: A classic twin study with multivariate quantitative genetic models found that disc degeneration is one pathway through which genes influence back pain, and a substantial minority of the genetic influences on pain was due to the same genetic influences affecting disc degenerations.

Acupuncture and dry-needling for low back pain (Review)

Lao L
TL;DR: The data suggest that acupuncture and dry-needling may be useful adjuncts to other therapies for chronic low-back pain, and there certainly is a further need for higher quality trials in this area.

The Treatment of Neck and Low Back Pain: Who Seeks Care? Who Goes Where?

TL;DR: Individuals seeking care for neck or back pain have worse health status than those who do not seek care, and patients consulting chiropractors alone report fewer comorbidities and are less limited in their activities than those consulting medical doctors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Opioids compared to placebo or other treatments for chronic low-back pain.

TL;DR: There is some evidence (very low to moderate quality) for short-term efficacy (for both pain and function) of opioids to treat CLBP compared to placebo, and the included trials in this review had high drop-out rates, were of short duration, and had limited interpretability of functional improvement.
