Tn10-derived transposons active in Bacillus subtilis.
TL;DR: Small derivatives of the Escherichia coli transposon Tn10, comprising IS10 ends and a chloramphenicol resistance gene, were introduced in Bacillus subtilis on a thermosensitive plasmid and generated auxotrophic and sporulation-deficient mutants with a frequency of about 1%.

Anaerobic Growth, a Property Horizontally Transferred by an Hfr-Like Mechanism among Extreme Thermophiles
TL;DR: It is shown that Thermus thermophilus HB8 (ATCC 27634) can grow anaerobically when nitrate is present in the growth medium, and that this transfer takes place through a DNase-insensitive mechanism which, as for the Hfr (high frequency of recombination) derivatives of Escherichia coli, can also mobilize other chromosomal markers in a time-dependent way.

Cloning and characterization of the ornithine carbamoyltransferase gene from Aspergillus nidulans
TL;DR: An Aspergillus nidulans DNA fragment composed of two adjacent SalI subfragments that carries an argB gene complementing the yeast arg3 mutation has been isolated from two different gene libraries and hybridization results and immunological tests indicate that the cloned fragment contains the A. niduans structural gene coding for ornithine carbamoyltransferase (OTCase).
