Common variants at 7p21 are associated with frontotemporal lobar degeneration with TDP-43 inclusions

Vivianna M. Van Deerlin, +107 more
- 01 Mar 2010 -
TL;DR: It is found that FTLD-TDP associates with multiple SNPs mapping to a single linkage disequilibrium block on 7p21 that contains TMEM 106B, which implicate variants in TMEM106B as a strong risk factor for FTLD, suggesting an underlying pathogenic mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

New insights into the genetic etiology of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias

Céline Bellenguez, +401 more
- 01 Apr 2022 -
TL;DR: This paper performed a two-stage genome-wide association study with 111,326 clinically diagnosed/proxy AD cases and 677,663 controls and found 75 risk loci, of which 42 were new at the time of analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association between total, processed, red and white meat consumption and all-cause, CVD and IHD mortality: a meta-analysis of cohort studies.

TL;DR: The results of the present meta-analysis indicate that processed meat consumption could increase the risk of mortality from any cause and CVD, while red meat consumption is positively but weakly associated with CVD mortality.
