Abstract: OBJETIVOS: descrever uma serie de casos de colite ulcerativa inespecifica, com enfase nas manifestacoes iniciais, propedeutica e intervalo entre os primeiros sintomas e o diagnostico. METODOS: analise retrospectiva de casos de colite ulcerativa inespecifica, cujos sintomas iniciaram antes de 20 anos de idade. Os pacientes foram selecionados nos Servicos de Gastroenterologia Pediatrica do Hospital das Clinicas da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais e do Instituto Materno Infantil de Pernambuco. RESULTADOS: foram encontrados 29 pacientes com diagnostico de colite ulcerativa inespecifica, sendo 15 (51,7%) pacientes do sexo masculino. A idade ao inicio dos sintomas variou entre 0,3 a 15,8 anos. Os sintomas mais frequentes ao diagnostico foram diarreia (89,7%) e dor abdominal (82,8%). A manifestacao extra-intestinal mais comum foi artralgia/artrite (41,4%). A relacao peso para a idade estava abaixo do percentil 3 em 13,8% dos pacientes. O intervalo de tempo entre o inicio dos sintomas e o diagnostico variou entre 0,1 e 10,9 anos. CONCLUSOES: o intervalo entre os sintomas iniciais e o diagnostico ainda continua elevado na nossa Regiao devido ao somatorio de varios fatores.

Abstract: Fusariosis constitutes an important hindrance to pineapple farming in Brazil. The cultivars resistant to fusariosis, ‘Vitoria’ and ‘Imperial’, from in vitro culture, are an alternative for crop management. This work evaluates the veg­etative performance of pineapple cultivars propagated by tissue culture in response to the use of organic sub­strates, different in nature and proportion. The experimental design was a completely randomized block, arranged in a 3×5 factorial scheme, with three pineapple cultivars (‘Perola’, ‘Vitoria’, and ‘Imperial’) and five substrates [ORG: Organoamazon®, organic compound; SS: Standard Substrate, soil + sand (1:1 v/v); SS + M + C: SS + sheep manure (M) + carbonized rice husk (C) (2:1:1 v/v); SS + M (3:1 v/v); SS + C (3:1 v/v), unfolded in mean contrasts]. The variables analyzed were shoot and root growth and shoot nutrient content. The vegetative perfor­mance of cultivars, considering the increase of shoot dry weight in the most responsive substrate, was: ‘Perola’ > ‘Vitoria’ > ‘Imperial’. Substrate ORG promoted higher increases in shoot dry weight (259%) and root density (116%) compared to the average of the other substrates. The growth promoted by ORG resulted in higher N, P, K, Ca, and Mg content in pineapple plants. Substrates ORG and SS + M + C are recommended for acclimatiza­tion of in vitro propagated pineapple seedlings in the period of ex vitro seedling acclimatization.

Abstract: The objective of the study was to evaluate the chemical management of Urochloa ruziziensis intercropped with soybean under no tillage system in the Roraima savanna. The experiment was conducted in an experimental area located in the municipality of Boa Vista - RR, in the year 2015. The treatments consisted of the combination of four doses of the herbicide glyphosate (720; 1.200; 1.680 and 2.160 g ha-1 of i.a) sprayed prior to sowing the soybean as a desiccant and five doses of the herbicide fenoxaprop-p-ethyl (0; 38.5; 77; 115.5 and 154 g ha-1 of i.a) sprayed 32 days after emergence of the post-emergence crop. The experimental design was a randomized complete block in the subdivided plots scheme, with four replications. For the soybean crop were evaluated the height of plants, height of insertion of the first pod, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, mass of 100 grains and grain yield in kg ha-1. The fresh and dry forage mass was evaluated for U. ruziziensis at 70 days after soybean harvest and expressed in kg ha-1. It was concluded that only the application of glyphosate at a dose of 1387,64 g ha-1, applied in post-emergence in the soybean crop, guarantees maximum grain yield (3660,07 kg ha-1) and of fresh mass (10136,22 kg ha-1) and dry matter (2404,63 kg ha-1) of U. ruziziensis for soil cover for the next planting, necessary to guarantee the sustainability of the productive system.
