TL;DR: In this article, the high-frequency behavior of superconducting NdBa2Cu3O6+x (NBCO) has been investigated by the standing-wave technique in the microwave region.
Abstract: The high-frequency behavior of superconducting NdBa2Cu3O6+x (NBCO) has been investigated by the standing-wave technique in the microwave region. The joule loss of the bulk NBCO sample, as determined from the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), falls markedly at Tc. In the low temperature region, i.e. for T

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the combination of graded last barrier as well as electron blocking layer in GaN-based multiquantum light-emitting diodes (LEDs) was numerically examined.
Abstract: We have numerically examined the effect of the combination of graded last barrier as well as electron blocking layer in GaN-based multiquantum light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The structure shows improved hole injection into the quantum wells, which is a crucial performance-limiting factor in GaN LEDs. In our proposed structure, valence band offset is reduced, hole injection is enhanced and therefore optoelectronic properties are enhanced significantly.

TL;DR: The theory related to fluid flow in paper is described in detail and categorized into wet-out (Lucas-Washburn equation) and fully wetted (Darcy's Law) flow for various boundary conditions, geometries and external factors as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: This chapter covers the fundamental theory related to paper-based microfluidics. A brief introduction of the field is presented followed by description of the physical and electrical properties of paper which play a key role in accurate prediction of flow rate. The theory related to fluid flow in paper is then described in detail and categorized into wet-out (Lucas-Washburn equation) and fully wetted (Darcy’s Law) flow for various boundary conditions, geometries, and external factors. Finally, the theory of electro-kinetics in paper is presented with electro-osmosis, electrophoresis, and electrowetting on a dielectric as potential techniques for fluid or particle manipulation in paper-based microfluidic devices.

TL;DR: The results show that network performance is improved with increase in macro and pico BSs separation within the association region of a macrocell.
Abstract: To deal with challenges of enhanced user density, high data rate demand and coverage, conventional macro cellular network architecture is evolving to irregular and complex Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) through dense deployment of low power Base Stations (BSs) such as pico and femto BSs. Various parameters and their effects are considered while analyzing the performance of HetNets. In this paper we investigate the impact of macro and pico BSs separation on the network performance. We consider picocell within the association region of a macrocell and investigate the association region of picocell, average rate, and Energy Efficiency (EE) of the network. The results show that network performance is improved with increase in macro and pico BSs separation within the association region of a macrocell.

TL;DR: In this paper, a thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) system which consists of substrate material of stainless steel 316, Ni-20Cr as a bond coat and top coat of CaZrO3 was produced by air plasma spraying technique.
Abstract: Eddy current as a non-destructive technique has been used for evaluation of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) system. In this study the TBCs system which consists of substrate material of stainless steel 316, Ni-20Cr as a bond coat and top coat of CaZrO3 was produced by air plasma spraying technique. Isothermal treatment of TBCs system was performed and its effect on the microstructures and oxide formation was investigated. The chromium oxide formation as a function of temperature and time was observed. The observed changes in microstructure and formation of chromium oxide were then correlated with variation in eddy current values.
