Journal ArticleDOI
Localization of a human heat-shock HSP 70 gene sequence to chromosome 6 and detection of two other loci by somatic-cell hybrid and restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated by somatic cell hybrid and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analyses that there are a minimum of three distinct HSP 70 loci in the human genome, one of which is located on chromosome 6.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Common variants at AβPP, PSEN1, and PSEN2 and MAPT are unlikely to make strong contributions to susceptibility for LOAD, however, the gene-wide effect observed at MAPT indicates a possible contribution to disease risk which requires further study.
Journal ArticleDOI
The PSEN1, p.E318G variant increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease in APOE-ε4 carriers.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the effect of PSEN1, p.E318G on AD susceptibility is largely dependent on an interaction with APOE-ε4 and mediated by an increased burden of Aβ deposition, and is associated with more Aβ plaques and faster cognitive decline.

Test and model for alzheimer's disease
TL;DR: In this article, a model system of Alzheimer's disease comprises a DNA sequence encoding an amyloid precursor protein (APP) isoform or fragment that has an amino acid substitution.
