Functional Connectivity in Autosomal Dominant and Late-Onset Alzheimer Disease

TL;DR: Ordinal logistic regression models constructed in one type of Alzheimer disease accurately predicted clinical dementia rating scores in the other, further demonstrating the similarity of functional connectivity loss in each disease type.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alzheimer's Disease Risk Polymorphisms Regulate Gene Expression in the ZCWPW1 and the CELF1 Loci.

TL;DR: Findings together with the function of PILRB as a DAP12 receptor supports the critical role of microglia and neuroinflammation in AD risk and demonstrates that PIL RB, as well as other genes within the GWAS loci, are most highly expressed inmicroglia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic linkage to chromosome 22q12 for a heavy-smoking quantitative trait in two independent samples.

TL;DR: A genomewide linkage screen of a simple heavy-smoking quantitative trait, the maximum number of cigarettes smoked in a 24-h period, using two independent samples, may reveal variants contributing to heaviness of smoking, which will lead to a better understanding of the genetic mechanisms underlying nicotine dependence.
