TL;DR: In this paper, the authors obtained the width difference between the B-s(0) light and heavy mass eigenstates, Delta Gamma(s)=0.19 +/- 0.07(stat), and the CP-violating phase, phi(s)=-0.57(-0.30)(+0.24) ps(-1), and -1.20
Abstract: From an analysis of the flavor-tagged decay B-s(0)-> J/psi phi we obtain the width difference between the B-s(0) light and heavy mass eigenstates, Delta Gamma(s)=0.19 +/- 0.07(stat)(-0.01)(+0.02)(syst) ps(-1), and the CP-violating phase, phi(s)=-0.57(-0.30)(+0.24)(stat)(-0.02)(+0.08)(syst). The allowed 90% CL intervals of Delta Gamma(s) and phi(s) are 0.06

TL;DR: Logue et al. point out some of the limitations of the original concept of a metacommunity as well as more recent research.
Abstract: One of the most promising theoretical frameworks for studying responses to ecological change is the metacommunity concept. Recent work by Logue et al. [1] provided the first comprehensive synthesis of empirical metacommunity research since the seminal work by Leibold et al. published in 2004 [2]. In their original work [2], Leibold et al. outlined the theoretical framework for the study of a metacommunity, a set of local communities connected by dispersing species. Logue et al. [1] point out some of the limitations of the original concept as well as more recent research.

TL;DR: A direct correlation between water chemical analyses (contamination by TPHs and PAHs) and both genotoxic and mutagenic effects observed in exposed A. cepa cells is revealed.
Abstract: In the present study, we applied Chromosome Aberration (CA) and Micronucleus (MN) tests to Allium cepa root cells, in order to evaluate the water quality of Guaeca river. This river, located in the city of Sao Sebastiao, SP, Brazil, had been affected by an oil pipeline leak. Chemical analyses of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPHs) and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) were also carried out in water samples, collected in July 2005 (dry season) and February 2006 (rainy season) in 4 different river sites. The largest CA and MN incidence in the meristematic cells of A. cepa was observed after exposure to water sample collected during the dry season, at the spring of the river, where the oil leak has arisen. The F(1) cells from roots exposed to such sample (non-merismatic region) were also analyzed for the incidence of MN, showing a larger frequency of irregularities, indicating a possible development of CA into MN. Lastly, our study reveals a direct correlation between water chemical analyses (contamination by TPHs and PAHs) and both genotoxic and mutagenic effects observed in exposed A. cepa cells.

TL;DR: The available data allow us to draw general conclusions about the specificity of NLS binding by importin-α and facilitate an improved definition of the consensus sequence of a conventional basic/bipartite NLS that can be used to identify novel nuclear proteins.
