TLDR
A new method for determining nucleotide sequences in DNA is described, which makes use of the 2',3'-dideoxy and arabinon nucleoside analogues of the normal deoxynucleoside triphosphates, which act as specific chain-terminating inhibitors of DNA polymerase.
Abstract
A new method for determining nucleotide sequences in DNA is described. It is similar to the “plus and minus” method [Sanger, F. & Coulson, A. R. (1975) J. Mol. Biol. 94, 441-448] but makes use of the 2′,3′-dideoxy and arabinonucleoside analogues of the normal deoxynucleoside triphosphates, which act as specific chain-terminating inhibitors of DNA polymerase. The technique has been applied to the DNA of bacteriophage ϕX174 and is more rapid and more accurate than either the plus or the minus method.

Recognition of the TACTAAC box during mRNA splicing in yeast involves base pairing to the U2-like snRNA

TL;DR: Recognition of the UACUAAC box relies, at least in part, on Watson-Crick base pairing with the yeast U2 analogue, and allele-specific suppression of biological and biochemical phenotypes was observed.

The promoter of the prostate-specific antigen gene contains a functional androgen responsive element.

TL;DR: Findings provide strong evidence for transcription regulation of the PA gene by androgens via the sequence AGAACAgcaAGTGCT.

Aequorea green fluorescent protein. Expression of the gene and fluorescence characteristics of the recombinant protein.

TL;DR: Expression of the cDNA for Aequorea green fluorescentprotein in E. coli yielded a fused protein with fluorescence excitation and emission spectra virtually identical to those of the native green fluorescent protein, indicating a radiationless energy transfer to the protein.

A lymphocyte-specific protein-tyrosine kinase gene is rearranged and overexpressed in the murine T cell lymphoma LSTRA

TL;DR: It is inferred that the lskT-encoded protein-tyrosine kinase may aid in transducing proliferative or differentiative signals unique to lymphocytes in order to mediate neoplastic transformation in lymphocytes.

Conservation of a large protein domain in the segmentation gene paired and in functionally related genes of Drosophila

TL;DR: Together with the PRD repeat, the Drosophila paired gene contains at least three different domains, each defining a gene set thought to be important for development.

A rapid method for determining sequences in DNA by primed synthesis with DNA polymerase.

TL;DR: A simple and rapid method for determining nucleotide sequences in single-stranded DNA by primed synthesis with DNA polymerase is described and was used to determine two sequences in bacteriophage φX174 DNA.

Nucleotide sequence of bacteriophage G4 DNA.

TL;DR: The sequence identifies many of the features responsible for the production of the proteins of the nine known genes of the organism, including initiation and termination sites for the proteins and RNAs.
