Global, regional, and national levels and trends in maternal mortality between 1990 and 2015, with scenario-based projections to 2030: a systematic analysis by the UN Maternal Mortality Estimation Inter-Agency Group

TLDR
Based on MMR estimates for 2015, scenario-based projections are constructed to highlight the accelerations needed to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) global target of less than 70 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births globally by 2030.

Global, regional, and national age-sex specific mortality for 264 causes of death, 1980–2016: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2016

Mohsen Naghavi, +601 more
- 16 Sep 2017 -
TL;DR: The Global Burden of Disease 2016 Study (GBD 2016) provides a comprehensive assessment of cause-specific mortality for 264 causes in 195 locations from 1980 to 2016 as discussed by the authors, which includes evaluation of the expected epidemiological transition with changes in development and where local patterns deviate from these trends.

Future life expectancy in 35 industrialised countries: projections with a Bayesian model ensemble

TL;DR: There is more than a 50% probability that by 2030, national female life expectancy will break the 90 year barrier, a level that was deemed unattainable by some at the turn of the 21st century.

Global, regional, and national levels of maternal mortality, 1990–2015: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2015

Nicholas J Kassebaum, +616 more
- 08 Oct 2016 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors quantified maternal mortality throughout the world by underlying cause and age from 1990 to 2015 for ages 10-54 years by systematically compiling and processing all available data sources from 186 of 195 countries and territories.

Abortion incidence between 1990 and 2014: global, regional, and subregional levels and trends.

TL;DR: Subregional, regional, and global levels and trends in abortion incidence for 1990 to 2014, and abortion rates in subgroups of women, using a Bayesian hierarchical time series model are estimated.

Mohsen Naghavi, +731 more
- 10 Jan 2015 -
TL;DR: In the Global Burden of Disease Study 2013 (GBD 2013) as discussed by the authors, the authors used the GBD 2010 methods with some refinements to improve accuracy applied to an updated database of vital registration, survey, and census data.

TL;DR: JAGS is a program for Bayesian Graphical modelling which aims for compatibility with Classic BUGS and could eventually be developed as an R package.

Maternal mortality in 2000: estimates developed by WHO, UNICEF and UNFPA.

C. AbouZahr, +1 more
TL;DR: The first set of global and national estimates for 1990 was developed in order to strengthen the information base and the second effort was made by UNICEF and UNFPA for the year 1995.
