TL;DR: In this paper, a mini fan is embodied for mounting in a recess (124) of a wall (122) which is provided with a plurality of holding members (128, 129) at the periphery of said recess.
Abstract: Disclosed is a mini fan (126) that is embodied for mounting in a recess (124) of a wall (122) which is provided with a plurality of holding members (128, 129) at the periphery of said recess (124). The inventive fan comprises a housing (136) for conducting air, which extends into the recess (124) of the wall (122) with a section (127) that is approximately complementary to said recess in the mounted position thereof. At least one part (138) that is made of an elastomeric material is disposed at the periphery of said housing section. The fan (126) can be inserted into the holding members (128, 129) with the aid of said part (138) during mounting thereof by displacing the fan (126) along the wall (122) in order to make at least some sections of said part (138) rest in a sealing manner against the wall (122) in the mounted position.

TL;DR: In this paper, an evaluation unit regularly evaluates the saturation voltage of the optocoupler at the output of an EC motor and generates a warning signal when the saturation voltages exceed a reference threshold.
Abstract: In an EC motor, comprising a motor electronics, a signal input or a signal output, and an optocoupler for the galvanically isolated transmission of a useful signal between the motor control unit and the signal input or the signal output, the intention is to reliably determine the degradation of the optocoupler and to improve the service life of the EC motor. This is achieved in that an evaluation unit regularly evaluates a saturation voltage of the optocoupler at the output of the optocoupler in relation to a reference threshold when the optocoupler is wired and generates a warning signal when the saturation voltage exceeds the reference threshold.

TL;DR: In this article, an external-rotor motor with a tubular ferromagnetic yoke was designed to serve as a magnetic return path for the external rotor motor during final assembly.
Abstract: A mixed-flow fan features a housing ( 42 ); an impeller ( 43 ) journaled rotatably with respect to the housing, and equipped with fan blades ( 54 ); a generally cylindrical air conduit ( 50 ) defined between the fan housing and the impeller, the fan blades extending into the air conduit in order, during operation, to transport air; an external-rotor motor ( 75 ) having an internal stator ( 100 ) and an external rotor ( 74 ) which includes a tubular ferromagnetic yoke ( 63 ) partly embedded in material of the impeller. A cup-shaped yoke ( 72 ) fits into a central cavity ( 68 ) of the tubular yoke ( 63 ) and accommodates a permanent magnet arrangement ( 66 ) which interacts with the stator. The tubular yoke ( 63 ) and the cup-shaped yoke ( 72 ) together serve as a magnetic return path for the external-rotor motor. The structure minimizes damage during final assembly, and simplifies insertion of balancing weights.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for operating an electric motor with a stator and outer rotor (40) that has a multi-polar sensor magnet magnet (54) and at least one rotor position sensor (42, 44) attached to the stator is presented.
Abstract: A method for operating an electric motor with a stator and outer rotor (40) that has a multi-polar (55) sensor magnet (54) and at least one rotor position sensor (42, 44) attached to the stator. The method has the following steps: generation of a rotor position signal dependent on the rotation of the sensor and application to a position evaluation device and; conversion of a rotor position signal into a digital value with at least 2-bit resolution. An Independent claim is made for an electric motor with a sensor arrangement for output of digital position signals.
