02 Mar 2006TL;DR: In this paper, an electric motor with a printed circuit board including an integrated circuit, and a cap including a cover and a peripheral wall to protect the motor was used for cooling the fan.
Abstract: The fan has an electric motor (4) with a printed circuit board including an integrated circuit, and a cap including a cover and a peripheral wall to protect the motor. The cap has an inflow opening for the external air. An air impeller (11) is driven by the motor, which is controlled by the circuit. The flow of air provided by the impeller is conveyed directly to the circuit to cool the circuit during operation of the fan.

26 Oct 2017TL;DR: A stator for an electric motor, connected to a circuit board, comprising a stator housing in which several winding arrangements consisting of winding wires wound to form coils are arranged, is described in this article.
Abstract: A stator for an electric motor, connected to a circuit board, comprising a stator housing in which several winding arrangements consisting of winding wires wound to form coils are arranged. Contact support receptacles are formed on the stator housing, in which, in each case, an insulation displacement contact element is introduced, which establishes an electrical contact between, in each case, a winding arrangement and a jumper wire on the circuit board.

03 May 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a Hall sensor is omitted from a motor structure to ensure reliable startup, in a preferred rotation direction, if the motor (20 ) is designed with an auxiliary reluctance torque (Trel) which, when the motor is running in the desired rotation direction (DIR=1), has a driving branch (130 ) that is effective where a gap ( 136 ) exists in an electromagnetic torque (Tel) between two successive driving portions of that electromagnetic torque(Tel), and by using the steps of (a) upon starting, controlling application of electrical energy to the motor(
Abstract: not available for EP1601095Abstract of corresponding document: US2005253545An electronically commutated motor (ECM) often employs a Hall sensor for reliable operation. Even when a Hall sensor is omitted from a motor structure, one can assure reliable startup, in a preferred rotation direction, if the motor ( 20 ) is designed with an auxiliary reluctance torque (Trel) which, when the motor is running in the preferred rotation direction (DIR=1), has a driving branch ( 130 ) that is effective where a gap ( 136 ) exists in an electromagnetic torque (Tel) between two successive driving portions of that electromagnetic torque (Tel), and by using the steps of (a) upon starting, controlling application of electrical energy to the motor ( 20 ) in such a way that, in the event of a start in the wrong rotation direction, the motor cannot overcome the braking reluctance torque ( 130 ') which is then effective; and (b) monitoring rotor movement to determine whether the rotor ( 22 ) is rotating in the desired rotation direction (DIR=1).
