TLDR
An equation relating the rate of release of solid drugs suspended in ointment bases into perfect sinks is derived and the final expression is found to be surprisingly simple and convenient.

Polymer coatings containing drug powder of controlled morphology

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for depositing a coating comprising a polymer and pharmaceutical agent on a substrate, comprising the following steps: discharging at least one pharmaceutical agent in a therapeutically desirable morphology in dry powder form through a first orifice, discharging the polymer and/or pharmaceutical particles onto said substrate, wherein an electrical potential is maintained between the substrate and the pharmaceutical and polymer particles, thereby forming said coating; and sintering said coating under conditions that do not substantially modify the morphology of said pharmaceutical agent.

Loading and Release of Ibuprofen in Multi- and Monofilament Surgical Sutures

TL;DR: The preparation of mono- and multifilament sutures incorporating ibuprofen as an anti-inflammatory agent is considered and the kinetics of both the loading process and the release in a Sörensen's medium at 37 degrees C have been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Halloysite Nanotubes: Green Nanomaterial for Functional Organic-Inorganic Nanohybrids.

TL;DR: Recent advances in surface modification of HNT and its functional organic-inorganic nanohybrids including hybrid nanocontainers, flame retardant nanocomposites, dye removal adsorbents, liquid marbles, and superamphiphobic coatings are introduced.

Kinetic models for the release of the anticancer drug doxorubicin from biodegradable polylactide/metal oxide-based hybrids.

TL;DR: In this work, polylactide (PLA), doxorubicin (DOX), and metal oxide (MO) spheres were synthesised using the solvent-evaporation technique and were tested for sustained drug release and the potential for PLA use as a carrier was ascertained.

Optimizing indomethacin-loaded chitosan nanoparticle size, encapsulation, and release using Box-Behnken experimental design.

TL;DR: In vitro drug release data were fitted in different kinetic models and pattern of drug release followed Higuchi-matrix type, and factors A, B and C were found to give synergistic effect on R1, while factor A has a negative impact on R2 and R3.
