TLDR
In this paper, the authors present a general introduction to the theory of transformation kinetics of real metals, including the formation and evolution of martensitic transformations, as well as a theory of dislocations.

An experimental and theoretical investigation of the formation of Zr-containing dispersoids in Al–4.5Zn–1Mg aluminum alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the formation of Zr-containing dispersoids during the homogenization treatment of AA7020 aluminium alloy with different Zr contents was investigated and an optimum treatment was proposed on the basis of the results of modelling in terms of Zener drag pressure and verified on the alloy after hot compression testing and annealing.

Friction stir welding of precipitation strengthened aluminium alloys: scope and challenges

TL;DR: In this article, low intensity post-weld plastic deformation and design of dispersion containing aluminium alloys are suggested as approaches to enhance joint efficiency in friction stir welded structures.

Crystallization kinetics and spectroscopic investigations on Tb3+ and Yb3+ codoped glass ceramics containing CaF2 nanocrystals

TL;DR: The average apparent activation energy of the crystallization was ∼498kJ∕mol and the value of the Avrami exponent n was 1.01 as mentioned in this paper, which suggests that the crystallisation mechanism of CaF2 is a diffusion controlled growth process of needles and plates of finite long dimensions.

The Morphology and Mechanical Properties of Bainite Formed from Deformed Austenite

TL;DR: This article showed that deformed austenite transforms to upper bainite at temperatures at least as low as 200°C due to enhanced nucleation and/or growth at slip band heterogeneities generated by the defor-mation process.

Twinning in γ′ Cu–Al–Ni Martensite with Cu 3 Ti Type Ordered Structure

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the deformation twinning in γ'Cu-Al-Ni martensite with Cu3Ti type ordered structure, whose sublattice is HCP, and the following conclusions were reached: (1) The twinning elements of {121}γ'and{101}γ'twinnings consistent with the phenomenological theory are as follows.
