Unphosphorylated SR-Like Protein Npl3 Stimulates RNA Polymerase II Elongation
Jessica L. Dermody,Jonathan M. Dreyfuss,Judit Villén,Babatunde Ogundipe,Steven P. Gygi,Peter J. Park,Alfred S. Ponticelli,Claire Moore,Stephen Buratowski,Miriam E. Bucheli +9 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that phosphorylation of Npl3 promotes its dissociation from the mRNA/RNAP II, and contributes to the association of the polyA/termination factor Rna15.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrophoresis combined with novel mass spectrometry techniques : powerful tools for the analysis of proteins and proteomes
TL;DR: The combination of electrophoretic separation techniques with electrospray ionization (ESI) tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) and the combination of orthogonal separation techniques, such as immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) with SPE‐CZE‐MS/ MS, and IMAC followed by HPLC, are presented for the detailed investigation of post‐translational modifications of specific proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI
A site-specific, multiplexed kinase activity assay using stable-isotope dilution and high-resolution mass spectrometry
TL;DR: A multiplexed, mass-spectrometry-based in vitro kinase assay to measure the activation state of many kinases from the same cell lysate and identified the source of activity for a peptide from a PI3K regulatory subunit from the library.
Journal ArticleDOI
Defective respiration and one-carbon metabolism contribute to impaired naïve T cell activation in aged mice.
Noga Ron-Harel,Giulia Notarangelo,Jonathan M. Ghergurovich,Joao A. Paulo,Peter T. Sage,Daniel Ditzel Santos,Daniel Ditzel Santos,F. Kyle Satterstrom,F. Kyle Satterstrom,Steven P. Gygi,Joshua D. Rabinowitz,Arlene H. Sharpe,Arlene H. Sharpe,Marcia C. Haigis +13 more
TL;DR: Mechanisms of skewed metabolic remodeling in aged T cells are defined and evidence that modulation of metabolism has the potential to promote immune function in aged individuals is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced analysis of metastatic prostate cancer using stable isotopes and high mass accuracy instrumentation
Patrick A. Everley,Corey E. Bakalarski,Joshua E. Elias,Carol G. Waghorne,Sean A. Beausoleil,Scott A. Gerber,Brendan K. Faherty,Bruce R. Zetter,Steven P. Gygi +8 more
TL;DR: A substantial improvement in quantitative analysis is reported using a linear ion-trap Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer (LTQ FT) and novel quantification software and this resulted in a dramatic increase in proteome coverage.
