TL;DR: In this paper, a target system including a target including a material in which shock waves arise and propagate when hit by a projectile is presented, and a first shock sensor is arranged to detect the shock waves.
Abstract: A shooting target system including a target including a material in which shock waves arise and propagate when hit by a projectile. A first shock sensor is arranged to detect the shock waves. At least a second shock sensor is arranged at a distance from the first shock sensor. A calculation module is configured to determine at least a first time-delay between the detections of the shock wave by the first and the at least second sensor, and to calculate information relating to the point of impact of the projectile in the target based on the at least first time-delay.

TL;DR: In this article, a dispenser unit (1) comprising a plurality of compartments (7), each of which is adapted for storing and launching a payload (3, 4, 51) and comprises an opening (9) through which the payload is launched by means of a control unit (13), a door means is associated with the opening and is driven by a driving means (19, 37).
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispenser unit (1) comprising a plurality of compartments (7), each of which is adapted for storing and launching a payload (3, 4, 51) and comprises an opening (9) through which the payload (3, 4, 51) is launched by means of a control unit (13), a door means is associated with the opening (9) and is driven by a driving means (19, 37). The dispenser unit (1) comprises one common door means (17, 41) being arranged in such way that it is drivable to cover the openings (9) of the compartments (7) from which the payloads (3, 4, 51) have been launched.

TL;DR: In this paper, an internal pressure relieving device for anti-armour ammunition is presented, which is mainly adapted for use with barrel-loaded ammunition, that is a naked round including a cartridge case, which normally would be located in its packaging.
Abstract: An internal pressure relieving device for anti-armour ammunition. The device is mainly adapted for use with barrel-loaded ammunition, that is a naked round including a cartridge case, which normally would be located in its packaging. A plurality of slot formed openings have been cut out through a wall of the cartridge case and the openings have been sealed by inserts of polymeric plastic introduced with a tight fit into each opening. Hence, by the characteristics of the plastic material, the inserts can be configured to open up at a predetermined level of temperature. Alternatively, the inserts open up at a predetermined level of pressure in the cartridge case.

TL;DR: This paper proposes a new double PHD filter for simultaneous multi-target tracking and background discrimination for airborne radar applications and uses a Gaussian mixture approximation of the intensities to implement the filter.
Abstract: In this paper, we propose a new double PHD filter for simultaneous multi-target tracking and background discrimination for airborne radar applications. Both the foreground and the background processes are modeled as Poisson point processes, which gives a symmetric formulation of the coupled filters. The differences between foreground and background lie in the assumed target dynamics, and in the sensor detection probabilities. Although there are proposals for PHD filter with adaptive background models in the literature, our filter appears to be novel and also the simplest possible. To implement the filter we use a Gaussian mixture approximation of the intensities, which enables simple and effective ways to extract tracks. For the evaluations we use a simulated target tracking scenario with an airborne radar tracking a number of flying targets over a background of road objects. First, the performance of the Gaussian mixture PHD filter with track extraction is illustrated. Second, the superior ability of the foreground-background PHD filter to suppress clutter and disturbing road traffic is illustrated.

TL;DR: In this paper, the position of a mobile signal transmitter is estimated by cross-correlating an over-sampled representation of the signal with an appropriate local spreading sequence, which contains poly-phased symbol values being different from a set of symbols in the direct sequence used to spread the transmitted signal.
Abstract: Positioning of a mobile signal transmitter. A respective distance between the transmitter and each of a plurality of sensors is determined based on a direct sequence spread spectrum signal. A transmission delay of the signal is estimated with high accuracy by, in each sensor, cross-correlating an over-sampled representation of the signal with an appropriate local spreading sequence, which contains poly-phased symbol values being different from a set of symbols in the direct sequence used to spread the transmitted signal. The local spreading sequence has a nominal chip period, which is equivalent to the chip period of the over-sampled representation of the signal.
