05 Mar 1998TL;DR: In this article, a cable protector for underwater craft remote-controlled by cable is described. The cable protector according to the invention comprises a first, essentially vertical part in the form of telescopically acting helical springs and ends at the bottom in a link system (26-34) which prevents any too tight bending of the operating cable at the same time as it ensures that the cable always runs out in the direction of the craft.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cable protector for underwater craft remote-controlled by cable. The function of the cable protector is to protect the operating cable (1) of the underwater craft against wearing and catching on the surface mother-ship from which the craft is operated. The cable protector guides the operating cable (1) out to such a great depth that it runs clear of the ship at the same time as it allows the cable to run out in any chosen direction at the same time as it limits the deflection angle at which the operating cable leaves the cable protector. The cable protector according to the invention comprises a first, essentially vertical part in the form of telescopically acting helical springs and ends at the bottom in a link system (26-34) which prevents any too tight bending of the operating cable at the same time as it ensures that the operating cable always runs out in the direction of the craft. The solution using telescopically acting helical springs (12, 17) results in low flow resistance through the water and in it being simple to vary the length/depth of the cable protector continuously within a wide range.

14 Nov 2007TL;DR: In this paper, a launch tube protective cover for mounting to a launching vehicle consisting of a single launch tube (3) and a single projectile (7) is described. And a flexible rippable vapour barrier (9) faced towards the projectile and circumferentially attached to the launch tube is used to protect the interior of the vehicle from external environment.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a launch tube protective cover for mounting to a launch tube (3) comprising a projectile (7), which launch tube protective cover (5) is arranged for protecting the interior of the launch tube (3) from external environment The launch tube protective cover (5) comprises a flexible rippable vapour barrier (9) faced towards the projectile (7) and circumferentially attached to the launch tube (3)

12 Nov 2020TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a system for updating a pilot situational awareness system, to an aircraft, to a computer program product, and to a Computer-readable storage medium.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method (300) for updating a pilot situational awareness system. The method comprises the step of providing (310) sensor data from at least one non- ranging sensor aboard an aircraft for which the pilot situational awareness system is used. The method further comprises the step of updating (360) a database of the pilot situational awareness system based on the provided sensor data. The present disclosure further relates to a system for updating a pilot situational awareness system, to an aircraft, to a computer program product, and to a computer-readable storage medium.

TL;DR: In this article, the RF power amplifier demonstrators containing each one GaN-on-SiC, HEMT, CHZ015A-QEG, from UMS in SMD quad-flat no-leads package (QFN) were subjected to thermal cycles (TC) and power cycles (PC) and evaluated electrically, thermally and structurally.
Abstract: The RF power amplifier demonstrators containing each one GaN-on-SiC, HEMT, CHZ015A-QEG, from UMS in SMD quad-flat no-leads package (QFN) were subjected to thermal cycles (TC) and power cycles (PC) and evaluated electrically, thermally and structurally. Two types of solders, Sn63Pb36Ag2 and lead-free SnAgCu (SAC305), and two types of TIM materials, NanoTIM and TgonTM 805, for PCB attachment to the liquid cold plate were tested for thermo-mechanical reliability. Changes in the electrical performance of the devices, namely the reduction of the current saturation value, threshold voltage shift, increase of the leakage current and degradation of the HF performance were observed as a result of an accumulated current stress during PC. No significant changes in the investigated solder or TIM materials were observed.
