TL;DR: In this article, a differential has a housing made in one piece with two side openings via which parts can be introduced into and removed from the housing via respective support members (17-20), where the bearing member is intended to cooperate with a first bearing surface on the support plate and a second bearing surface (26) on the actual pinion gear.
Abstract: A differential (1) has a housing (2) made in one piece with two side openings (10) via which parts can be introduced into and removed from the housing. The pinion gears and side gears rest against the inside of the housing via respective support members (17-20). At least for the pinion gears (13,14) there is in the support member (17, 18) a bearing member (22) of the roller bearing type and a support plate (21), where the bearing member is intended to cooperate with, on the one hand, a first bearing surface (25) on the support plate and, on the other hand, a second bearing surface (26) on the actual pinion gear. Assembly of the support member is made possible by means of the fact that the side (24) of the support plate which is to rest against the inside (16) of the housing is convex.

TL;DR: An overview of the modeling and simulation work for the military aircraft JAS 39 Gripens vehicle systems, which comprise fuel, ECS, hydraulic, and auxiliary power systems and also landing gear, is given.
Abstract: This paper gives an overview of the modeling and simulation work for the military aircraft JAS 39 Gripens vehicle systems. The vehicle systems comprise fuel, ECS, hydraulic, and auxiliary power systems and also landing gear. Vehicle systems have several modeling challenges such as both compressible air and less compressible fluids that give stiff differential equations, g-force effects, nonlinear cavitation and saturation. It is also a complex system of integrated systems that requires models with integrated system software. Dynamic models based on physical differential equations have generally been used. The physical systems were previously modeled in Easy5 and the software in MATRIXx. Changes in tools where the physical systems are modeled in Dymola and the control algorithms are modeled in Simulink have opened up for new possibilities for more advanced and more complete system simulations. Simulations have been performed during the whole development cycle of the aircraft from concept evaluation to qualification tests. The paper gives some examples from the simulations where system performance and the internal states of the system are calculated.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors find a Verbrennungsmotor with einem abgasgetriebenen Turbolader (8) and zumindest zwei Auslassventilen (2, 3) pro Zylinder.

TL;DR: This paper gives two perspectives on situation analysis: a technological perspective and a human perspective which are merged into a unified situation analysis model for semi-automatic, automatic and manual decision support (SAM)2.
Abstract: The use of technology to assist human decision making has been around for quite some time now. In the literature, models of both technological and human aspects of this support can be identified. However, we argue that there is a need for a unified model which synthesizes and extends existing models. In this paper, we give two perspectives on situation analysis: a technological perspective and a human perspective. These two perspectives are merged into a unified situation analysis model for semi-automatic, automatic and manual decision support (SAM)2. The unified model can be applied to decision support systems with any degree of automation. Moreover, an extension of the proposed model is developed which can be used for discussing important concepts such as common operational picture and common situation awareness.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss selection issues concerning the possibilities to use COTS microprocessors (CPUs) in safety critical applications, including technical, eg new on-chip features such as monitors, performance trends and derating concerns, and strategic, eg continuously decreasing short commercial life and lack of predictable roadmaps.
Abstract: Despite the frequent use of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) microprocessors throughout the avionics community today, many companies still struggle with choosing the right ones for their forthcoming projects This paper discusses selection issues concerning the possibilities to use COTS microprocessors (CPUs) 1 in safety critical applications Issues addressed in the paper include technical, eg new on-chip features such as monitors, performance trends and derating concerns, and strategic, eg the continuously decreasing short commercial life and lack of predictable roadmaps We also look at other selection concerns such as certification and environmental directives, eg the new Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
