Journal ArticleDOI

Physicochemical characteristics and bioavailability of a novel intestinal metabolite of ginseng saponin (IH901) complexed with β-cyclodextrin

TL;DR: In this article, phase solubility profiles with both cyclodextrins (CDs) were classified as AL-type, indicating the formation of a 1:1 stoichiometric inclusion complex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inclusion Complexation of the Sunscreen Agent 2‐Ethylhexyl‐p‐dimethylaminobenzoate with Hydroxypropyl‐β‐cyclodextrin: Effect on Photostability

TL;DR: The interaction between the UV filter, 2‐ethylhexyl‐p‐dimethylaminobenzoate, and unmodified and modified α‐, β‐ or γ‐cyclodextrins was studied in water by phase‐solubility analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced solubility and dissolution rate of lamotrigine by inclusion complexation and solid dispersion technique.

TL;DR: The solid‐state properties and dissolution behaviour of lamotrigine in its inclusion complex with β‐cyclodextrin (βCD) and solid dispersions with polyvinylpyrrolidone K30 (PVP K30) and polyethyl‐eneglycol 6000 revealed that the drug was no longer present in crystalline state but was converted to an amorphous form.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced oral absorption of saquinavir with Methyl-Beta-Cyclodextrin-Preparation and in vitro and in vivo evaluation.

TL;DR: The study reveals that the integrated approach of pH adjustment and CyD complexation can be successfully used for improving the CyD solubilizing power towards an ionizable drug such as SQV, thus allowing a smaller quantity of CyD tosolubilize a given amount of drug, offering clear economic and technologic advantages as well.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inclusion Complexation of Propofol with 2-Hydroxypropyl-β- cyclodextrin. Physicochemical, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Studies, and Anesthetic Properties in Rat

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the structure of the inclusion complex propofol/HP-β -cyclodextrin using 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy and found that the whole aromatic ring, as well as part of the isopropyl groups of the guest molecule, is located inside the HP- β -CD cavity, while the hydroxy group is located at the rim of wider cavity end.
