- Vol. 27, Iss: 9, pp 922-935
TLDR
Because GSH plays a critical role in cellular defenses against electrophiles, oxidative stress and nitrosating species, pharmacologic manipulation of GSH synthesis has received much attention.

Aging: Thromboembolic Disease, Metabolic Syndrome, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and Alzheimer's Disease

TL;DR: The results suggest the hypothesis of the importance of a therapeutic strategy using the inhibition of PAI-1 as a goal, because it is increased in the different aging pathologic processes.

Redox Regulatory Circuits as Targets for Therapeutic Intervention of Bancroftian Filariasis: Biochemical, Molecular, and Pharmacological Perspectives

TL;DR: This chapter has discussed the recent advancements and potential of redox regulation targeted intervention of lymphatic filariasis by majorly emphasizing the biochemical, molecular, and pharmacological perspectives.

Inhibition of Glutathione S-Transferase by Ethacrynic Acid Augments Ischemia-Reperfusion Damage and Apoptosis and Attenuates the Positive Effect of Ischemic Postconditioning in a Bilateral Acute Hindlimb Ischemia Rat Model.

TL;DR: Inhibition of GST by EA augmented the IR damage, regulating these pathways in the process of apoptosis and PC, and the ratio of phosphorylated PSP was higher in the EA-administered groups and the protective effect of PC did not develop.

l-glycine and l-glutamic acid protect Pediococcus pentosaceus R1 against oxidative damage induced by hydrogen peroxide.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of l -glycine (Gly) and l -glutamic acid (Glu) on oxidative damage induced by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in Pediococcus pentosaceus R1 were investigated.

Tetrahydrobioterin and nitric oxide metabolism.

Lam Aaj
TL;DR: The results of this thesis suggest that increased NO formation can lead to decreased BH4 availability, which in turn may limit NO formation and lead to alterations in GSH status and impaired complex I activity.

Efficacy of oral N-acetylcysteine in the treatment of acetaminophen overdose. Analysis of the national multicenter study (1976 to 1985)

TL;DR: It is concluded that N-acetylcysteine treatment should be started within eight hours of an acetaminophen overdose, but that treatment is still indicated at least as late as 24 hours after ingestion, and it may be superior when treatment is delayed.
