Co-products of black-currant and apple juice production: Hydration properties and polysaccharide composition
Monika Kosmala,Krzysztof Kołodziejczyk,Jarosław Markowski,Monika Mieszczakowska,Christian Ginies,Catherine M.G.C. Renard +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the sugar composition in cell walls of apple and black currant pomaces was investigated with or without solvent extraction, and the enzyme treatments used for juice extraction increased the swelling capacity but decreased the water binding capacity, probably by loosening the cell wall structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
The distribution of hydroxycinnamoylputrescines in different organs of solanum tuberosum and other solanaceous species
TL;DR: Results indicate that hydroxycinnamoylputrescines are not likely to be causally involved in the tuberization process of potato plants and in the flowering process of Solanaceae species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectrophotometric measurement of carotenes, xanthophylls, and chlorophylls in extracts from plant seeds
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for measuring carotenoid and chlorophyll content in extracts from plant seeds was presented, where the pigments were extracted with a mixture of petroleum ether (PE) and tetrahydrofuran (THF) (PE to THF ratio 4: 1).
Anti-psoriatic and phytochemical evaluation of thespesia populnea bark extracts
TL;DR: In this article, a study on Thespesia populnea (Malvaceae) bark extract was conducted, which revealed the presence of carbohydrates, glycosides, tannins, flavonoids, triterpenoids, phytosterols, proteins and lipids/fixed oils.

Optical Rotatory Dispersion. Its Application to Protein Conformation.
E. F. Woods,Donnell +1 more
TL;DR: Optical rotation has been found to be one of the most convenient methods of following the denaturation of proteins and rotatory dispersion is capable of providing information on the folding of the polypeptide chain in proteins and the changes accompanying denaturation.
