Journal ArticleDOI

Purification, structure and immunobiological activity of an arabinan-rich pectic polysaccharide from the cell walls of Prunus dulcis seeds.

TL;DR: The crude polysaccharide extract and fractions A and E induced a murine lymphocyte stimulatory effect, as evaluated by the in vitro and in vivo expression of lymphocyte activation markers and spleen mononuclear cells culture proliferation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical properties of some Cucurbitaceae oils from Cameroon.

TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical properties of Cucurbitaceae seed oils from different areas in Cameroon have been investigated and the results show that the saponification, iodine and peroxide indices are influenced by the areas while the acid index and percentage of impurity do not depend on the area of cultivation but on the specie, except Lagenaria siceraria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Potato glycoalkaloid impairment of fungal development

TL;DR: Of the two potato glycoalkaloid-containing liquid medium from R. solani cultures, α-chaconine was the more inhibitory on spore germination in Alternaria brassicicola and Phoma medicaginis, and on growth in liquid culture of these species and also Ascobolus crenulatus and Rhizoctonia solani.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stomatal compensation points for ammonia in oilseed rape plants under field conditions

TL;DR: It is shown that plant residues on the soil surface would have been the primary NH 3 source while attached leaves acted as an NH 3 sink, and this correlation was largely due to the effect of temperature on NH 3 solubility and NH 4 + dissociation in the apoplast.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ribosyl-trans-Zeatin, A Major Cytokinin Produced by Crown Gall Tumor Tissue

TL;DR: A cell division factor in crystalline form has been isolated from ethanolic extracts of cultured Vinca rosea L. crown gall tumor tissue and appears to be a major cell-division factor in the extracts.

Allgemeine Charakterisierung eines Enzyms

W. Heinen
Book ChapterDOI

Optical Rotatory Dispersion. Its Application to Protein Conformation.

E. F. Woods, +1 more
TL;DR: Optical rotation has been found to be one of the most convenient methods of following the denaturation of proteins and rotatory dispersion is capable of providing information on the folding of the polypeptide chain in proteins and the changes accompanying denaturation.
