Journal ArticleDOI

Possible involvement of a pathogen-produced protein-lipopolysaccharide complex in Verticillium wilt of cotton

TL;DR: Evidence indicated that the protein-lipopolysaccharide (PLP) complex may be involved with the causation of disease symptoms in cotton plants infected with V. albo-atrum.
Journal ArticleDOI

A New Thiol in Legumes

TL;DR: A new thiol has been found in the red kidney bean, Phaseolus vulgaris, and in certain other legumes, and the thiol is the principal non-protein thiol of these plants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Litter dynamics in khasi pine (Pinus kesiya Royle ex Gordon) of North-Eastern India

TL;DR: Seven-, 15- and 22-year-old khasi pine plantations (Pinus kesiya Royle ex Gordon) at Mawlai in Meghalaya, north-eastern India, produced 6663, 8090, 8984 kg ha−1 year−1 respectively of total litter, which showed higher values during monsoon months, and lower values during winter months.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stereochemical Diversity in Lignan Biosynthesis of Arctium lappa L.

TL;DR: The stereochemistry of lignan biosynthesis in Arctium lappa L. is regulated organ-specifically, and the stereochemical diversity of secoisolariciresinol was demonstrated, suggesting that multipleLignan-synthesizing isozymes are involved in the stereochemistry control of lIGNan formation in A. lappa.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined effect of UV-C pretreatment and high oxygen packaging for keeping the quality of fresh-cut Tatsoi baby leaves

TL;DR: TheUV-C and the combined UV-C + O 2 -enriched MAP were the treatments which best controlled the epiphytic microbial growth and the shelf life of fresh-cut Tatsoi baby leaves was 9 to 10 days at 5 °C for all treatments.

Allgemeine Charakterisierung eines Enzyms

W. Heinen

Optical Rotatory Dispersion. Its Application to Protein Conformation.

E. F. Woods, +1 more
TL;DR: Optical rotation has been found to be one of the most convenient methods of following the denaturation of proteins and rotatory dispersion is capable of providing information on the folding of the polypeptide chain in proteins and the changes accompanying denaturation.
