Preservation of dried fruits and nuts from biodeterioration by natural plant volatiles

Neeta Sharma
- 01 Feb 2001 -
TL;DR: It is shown that dietary inoculum is the best route for 6-day-old larvae and topical spiracular treatment is thebest for 8-day -old larvae.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nature of carotenoid pigments in yellow fat of sheep

TL;DR: The chief carotenoids in the yellow fat of some sheep in New Zealand were identified, by absorption spectra behaviour on thin layer c:hromatography and colour reactions with Hel, as lutein and flavoxanthin and a third xanthophyll was probably auroxanthin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photosystem II activity of chloroplast fragments lacking P700

TL;DR: Chloroplast fragments prepared with the detergent Triton X-100 had a pigment composition characteristic of Photosystem I and could photoreduce NADP + with ascorbate as electron donor in the presence of plastocyanin as the electron carrier, consistent with the concept of two Photosystem II reactions cooperating in noncyclic electron transport.

Organic Compounds in Alpine Plants

TL;DR: The present study was done on various plant species and groups grown under natural conditions at one subalpine and five alpine sites at Hardangervidda, southern Norway.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical Rotatory Dispersion. Its Application to Protein Conformation.

E. F. Woods, +1 more
TL;DR: Optical rotation has been found to be one of the most convenient methods of following the denaturation of proteins and rotatory dispersion is capable of providing information on the folding of the polypeptide chain in proteins and the changes accompanying denaturation.
