Abscisic acid in lichens: variation, water relations and metabolism
S. Dietz,W. Hartung +1 more
TL;DR: The ABA content increased after hydration of air dry lichen thalli and decreased in desiccating lichen material and experiments with Baeomyces rufus (Huds.) Rebent indicated that the mycobiont might be the major site of ABA biosynthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morpho-anatomical and physicochemical studies of Fumaria indica (Hausskn.) Pugsley
Prakash C. Gupta,Ch V Rao +1 more
TL;DR: The results of the study can serve as a valuable source of information and provide suitable standards for identification of this plant material for future investigations and applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inactivation of Mg Chelatase during Transition from Anaerobic to Aerobic Growth in Rhodobacter capsulatus
TL;DR: BchH is the rate-limiting component of Mg chelatase activity in cell extracts and could provide a mechanism for inhibiting the synthesis of bacteriochlorophyll during adaptation of photosynthetically grown cells to aerobic conditions while still allowing heme synthesis to occur for aerobic respiration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nutritive values of Nepalese edible wild fruits.
TL;DR: The nutritive values of forty edible wild fruits of Nepal were determined in terms of total dry matter, sugar, protein, total ash and sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium and it was concluded that most of the wild fruits are comparable to cultivated fruits in nutritives values and may be considered as suitable for cultivation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preservation of peeled potato. I.–use of sulphite and its effect on the thiamine content
L. W. Mapson,H. G. Wager +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that drinking metabisulphite solution of 0.5-1.0% at pH 5.3-6.0 was the most effective treatment for retarding enzymic browning.

Optical Rotatory Dispersion. Its Application to Protein Conformation.
E. F. Woods,Donnell +1 more
TL;DR: Optical rotation has been found to be one of the most convenient methods of following the denaturation of proteins and rotatory dispersion is capable of providing information on the folding of the polypeptide chain in proteins and the changes accompanying denaturation.
