TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus for providing voice conversion using temporal dynamic features includes a feature extractor and a transformation element, which is configured to extract dynamic feature vectors from source speech.
Abstract: An apparatus for providing voice conversion using temporal dynamic features includes a feature extractor and a transformation element. The feature extractor may be configured to extract dynamic feature vectors from source speech. The transformation element may be in communication with the feature extractor and configured to apply a first conversion function to a signal including the extracted dynamic feature vectors to produce converted dynamic feature vectors. The first conversion function may have been trained using at least dynamic feature data associated with training source speech and training target speech. The transformation element may be further configured to produce converted speech based on an output of applying the first conversion function.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for controlling the power saving properties in a terminal, which utilizes cellular phone technology and short range radio frequency wireless communication features in order to increase the operative life of the batteries, and a terminal utilizing the method.
Abstract: The object of the invention is a method for controlling the power saving properties in a terminal, which utilizes cellular phone technology and short range radio frequency wireless communication features in order to increase the operative life of the batteries, and a terminal utilizing the method. In the method of the invention the activity state of the short range wireless communication utilization in the terminal determines the level of the short range wireless communication power save mode.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mobile station such as a telephone handset for a mobile radio telecommunications system, is operable in different, user selectable configurations for which radio transmissions are made with different frequencies or signal formats so that the user can roam from a home network (PLMN A) to another network(PLMN B) which operates in a different configuration to the HPLMN.
Abstract: A mobile station such as a telephone handset (1) for a mobile radio telecommunications system, is operable in different, user selectable configurations for which radio transmissions are made with different frequencies or signal formats so that the user can roam from a home network (PLMN A) to a another network (PLMN B) which operates in a different configuration to the HPLMN. The handset (1) includes a controller (8) to cause a search to be made for transmissions corresponding to a plurality of the different configurations when a configuration for a roamed network has been selected by the user so as to enable the handset to find the HPLMN when returning to the network coverage area of the HPLMN.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for adapting security parameters of services provided for a user terminal in a communication network, the method comprising the steps of: initiating (S10), from the user terminal, an adaptation procedure towards the network, informing (S11) in response thereto, by said network, said user terminal of security parameters available for the services provided by said user terminals, selecting (S12), at said users terminal, at least one security parameter per service, and storing (S14) said selected security parameters per user in the network.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for adapting security parameters of services provided for a user terminal in a communication network, the method comprising the steps of: initiating (S10), from the user terminal, an adaptation procedure towards the network, informing (S11) in response thereto, by said network, said user terminal of security parameters available for the services provided for said user terminal, selecting (S12), at said user terminal, at least one security parameter per service, and storing (S14) said selected security parameters per service per user in the network. Also, the present invention concerns a method for communicating data via a communication network to/from a user terminal having subscribed to said network, said method comprising the steps of: requesting (S20) a call to be established for said user terminal, retrieving (S21) security parameters from a subscriber database entity (HSS) of said network for said requested call, informing (S22) a security parameter processing entity (BS) of said network about the retrieved security parameters for said user terminal, and activating (S23) security processings for data communicated to/from said user terminal as defined by said security parameters per service for said user terminal at said security parameter processing unit.

TL;DR: In this article, a scalable encoder for encoding a media signal is described, which consists of first encoding means ( 210 ) for producing a first data stream, which is a core data stream relating to the media signal, having a first bit-rate; second encoding mean ( 230 ) for generating a second data stream and a multiplexer ( 110 ) for combining at least the first and second data streams into a third data stream.
Abstract: A scalable encoder ( 100 ) for encoding a media signal is described. It comprises first encoding means ( 210 ) for producing a first data stream ( 102 ), which is a core data stream relating to the media signal ( 101 ), having a first bit-rate; second encoding means ( 230 ) for producing a second data stream ( 103 ), which comprises a set of enhancement data streams relating to the media signal, having a second bit-rate; and a multiplexer ( 110 ) for combining at least the first data stream and the second data stream into a third data stream ( 104 ). The scalable encoder it further comprises control means ( 420, 421, 422 ), which is arranged to receive control information ( 401 ), to determine a target combination of the first data stream and the second data stream in the third data stream according to the control information and to adjust the combination of the first data stream and the second data stream in the third data stream by affecting the first and the second bit-rates. A multimedia terminal having a scalable encoder and a method for encoding data are also presented.
