TL;DR: In this article, a method for navigating information in a mobile terminal is presented, which includes displaying, on a graphical user interface of the mobile terminal, a plurality of window regions (210, 220, 230 and 240), wherein each region is a container for objects and provides an overview of contents (730) of the terminal and a status of the terminals.
Abstract: A method for navigating information in a mobile terminal (310). The method includes displaying, on a graphical user interface of the mobile terminal, a plurality of window regions (210, 220, 230 and 240), wherein each region is a container for objects and provides an overview of contents (730) of the terminal and a status of the terminal. Receiving a first user input to make a selection of one of the regions and in response to the first user input, displaying at least one object corresponding to a selected region in a central portion of the graphical user interface and displaying other non-selected regions that have a relationship to the selected region in a secondary manner. At least one management tool (371) for accessing information related to the selected region is displayed and, upon activation of the at least one management tool, the information selected is displayed.

23 Jul 2001TL;DR: A new multicast protocol for mobile ad hoc networks, called the multicast routing protocol based on zone routing (MZR), which is a source tree based protocol and does not depend on any underlying unicast protocol.
Abstract: This paper proposes a new multicast protocol for mobile ad hoc networks, called the multicast routing protocol based on zone routing (MZR). MZR is a source-initiated on-demand protocol, in which a multicast delivery tree is created using a concept called the zone routing mechanism. It is a source tree based protocol and does not depend on any underlying unicast protocol. The protocol's reaction to topological changes can be restricted to a node's neighborhood instead of propagating it throughout the network. A detailed simulation and performance analysis of MZR is presented.

01 May 2001TL;DR: What has been learned through this series of investigations about effective term suggestion, usable and useful interface design, and the relationships between these two in support of the TREC Interactive Track task is discussed.
Abstract: We report on the progressive investigation of techniques for supporting interactive query reformulation in the TREC Interactive Track. Two major issues were explored over four successive years: methods of term suggestion; and, interface design to support different system functionalities. Each year's results led to the following year's investigation, with respect to both of these issues. This paper presents first the general motivation for the entire series of studies; then an overview of each year's investigation, its results, and how they influenced the next year's investigation. We discuss what has been learned through this series of investigations about effective term suggestion, usable and useful interface design, and the relationships between these two in support of the TREC Interactive Track task. We conclude with comments about the general methodology employed over this series of studies, and its relevance to the development and evaluation of interactive information retrieval systems.

14 Jun 2004TL;DR: In this paper, a method for automated application-selective processing of data by a portable processor based terminal device and the portable processor-based terminal device enabled to perform the aforementioned method is presented.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for automated application-selective processing of data by a portable processor based terminal device and the portable processor based terminal device enabled to perform the aforementioned method. The data is receivable wirelessly from an external counterpart data provision entity. One or more content data is extracted from the wirelessly received data. Then it is checked whether an application, which is currently carried out on the portable processor based terminal device, is applicable or compatible with the one or more content data and in case a content data is applicable with the current running application, the content data is supplied to the application, which processed on the supplied content data accordingly.

08 Apr 1999TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-pole Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonator-Stacked Crystal Filter (Multi-pole BAWR-SCF) filtering circuit was proposed, which includes a plurality of impedance inverting elements and at least one inductive element.
Abstract: There is provided a Multi-pole Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonator-Stacked Crystal Filter (Multi-pole BAWR-SCF) filtering circuit or device. In one embodiment the Multi-pole BAWR-SCF circuit comprises a first pair of ports, a second pair of ports, a first lead that is coupled between a first and a second one of the first pair of ports, and a second lead that is coupled between a first and a second one of the second pair of ports. The Multi-pole BAWR-SCF circuit also comprises at least one BAW resonator that is coupled in series in the first lead, and at least one Stacked Crystal Filter (SCF). The SCF has first and second terminals that are coupled in the first lead, and a third terminal that is coupled in the second lead. The Multi-pole BAWR-SCF circuit further comprises a plurality of impedance inverting elements and at least one inductive element. Each individual one of the impedance inverting elements is coupled across the first and second leads, and the at least one inductive element is coupled in parallel with the at least one BAW resonator. The Multi-pole BAWR-SCF circuit yields improved frequency response characteristics relative to those that are typically yielded by at least some conventional multi-pole filters, and includes a reduced number of passive components relative to the number of such components included in at least some conventional multi-pole filters.
