Movement Disorder Society-sponsored revision of the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS): scale presentation and clinimetric testing results.

Christopher G. Goetz, +87 more
- 15 Nov 2008 -
TL;DR: The combined clinimetric results of this study support the validity of the MDS‐UPDRS for rating PD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Colonic inflammation in Parkinson's disease.

TL;DR: Findings provide evidence that enteric inflammation occurs in Parkinson's disease and further reinforce the role of peripheral inflammation in the initiation and/or the progression of the disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Clinically Important Difference on the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale

TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-sectional analysis of the CIDs for UPDRS total and motor scores was performed on patients with Parkinson disease (PD) using distribution-and anchor-based approaches based on the following external standards: disability (10% on the Schwab and England Activities of Daily Living Scale), disease stage (1 stage on the Hoehn and Yahr Scale), and quality of life (1 SD on the 12-Item Short Form Health Survey).

Attention Shifting in Parkinson's Disease: An Analysis of Behavioral and Cortical Responses (2014) Supplement

TL;DR: The results reveal that intact selective control and disrupted shifting control are dissociable in patients with PD, but additional work is required to dissect the proportionate effects of disease and treatment on shifting control in PD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Obsessive–compulsive personality disorder in drug-naïve Parkinson’s disease patients

TL;DR: Evaluation of the frequency of obsessive–compulsive personality disorder (OCPeD) in drug-naive newly diagnosed PD patients and in a group of age and sex frequency-matched healthy controls found both OCPeD and DPeD were not significantly associated with age, sex and disease duration.
Journal ArticleDOI

G2019S Mutation of the Leucine-Rich Repeat Kinase 2 Gene in a Cohort of Egyptian Patients with Parkinson's Disease

TL;DR: The G2019S mutation in the LRRK2 gene is quite common in Egyptian patients with sporadic Parkinson's disease and is associated with a higher degree of motor effect but does not seem to affect mentation or behavioral aspects of the disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visuomotor adaptation in Parkinson's disease: effects of perturbation type and medication state

TL;DR: It is concluded that PD subjects can adapt to changes in visual information but that l-dopa may impair visual-based motor adaptation.
