Movement Disorder Society-sponsored revision of the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS): scale presentation and clinimetric testing results.

Christopher G. Goetz, +87 more
- 15 Nov 2008 -
TL;DR: The combined clinimetric results of this study support the validity of the MDS‐UPDRS for rating PD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Colonic inflammation in Parkinson's disease.

TL;DR: Findings provide evidence that enteric inflammation occurs in Parkinson's disease and further reinforce the role of peripheral inflammation in the initiation and/or the progression of the disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Clinically Important Difference on the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale

TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-sectional analysis of the CIDs for UPDRS total and motor scores was performed on patients with Parkinson disease (PD) using distribution-and anchor-based approaches based on the following external standards: disability (10% on the Schwab and England Activities of Daily Living Scale), disease stage (1 stage on the Hoehn and Yahr Scale), and quality of life (1 SD on the 12-Item Short Form Health Survey).

Covariance 99mTc-exametazime SPECT patterns in Alzheimer's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies: utility in differential diagnosis.

TL;DR: 99mTc-exametazime single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scans of 36 patients with Alzheimer's disease and 30 with dementia with Lewy bodies underwent region of interest (ROI) and principal component analysis (PCA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical Phenotype of Adult Fragile X Gray Zone Allele Carriers: a Case Series

TL;DR: A series of adults with FMR1 alleles in the gray zone presenting with movement disorders or memory loss identified and their clinical phenotypes studied, finding some gray zone carriers presenting with parkinsonism had typical features, including bradykinesia, rigidity, and a positive response to dopaminergic medication.
Journal ArticleDOI

Co-morbidity burden in Parkinson's disease: Comparison with controls and its influence on prognosis.

TL;DR: Co-morbidity burden at diagnosis was associated with mortality in the early part of the disease course, but not later, and the CCI is probably the better scale for measuring co-morbridity burden in PD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Is customized vestibular rehabilitation effective in patients with Parkinson's?

TL;DR: In this study, vestibular rehabilitation was found to be effective for improving balance in patients with Parkinson's disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

A method to assess hand motor blocks in Parkinson's disease with digitizing tablet.

TL;DR: Results indicate that DT is useful for assessing MBs during volitional planar hand movement, and may be included in a clinical test battery because of short testing time and trouble-free preparation of patient.
