Purification and characterization of the bcl-2 protein.
Subrata Haldar,Nilamani Jena,Garrett C. Dubois,Shinichi Takayama,John C. Reed,Steven S. Fu,Carlo M. Croce +6 more
TL;DR: The oncogene product bcl-2 functions as a repressor of programmed cell death and is a 26-kDa protein with a single predicted transmembrane segment located at the carboxyl terminus that is highly hydrophobic and prone to aggregation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Compatible solutes from hyperthermophiles improve the quality of DNA microarrays.
Nicoletta Mascellani,Xiuping Liu,Simona Rossi,Jlenia Marchesini,Davide Valentini,Davide Valentini,Diego Arcelli,Cristian Taccioli,Mauro Helmer Citterich,Chang Gong Liu,R. Evangelisti,Giandomenico Russo,Jorge M. Santos,Carlo M. Croce,Stefano Volinia,Stefano Volinia +15 more
TL;DR: Low concentration (10 to 25 mM) of hydroxyectoine, potassium mannosylglycerate and potassium diglycerol phosphate in hybridization buffer positively affected hybridization parameters and enhanced microarrays outcome and harbours a strong potential for the improvement of DNA microarray experiments.
Fhit Interaction with Ferredoxin Reductase Triggers Generation of Reactive Oxygen Species and Apoptosis
Francesco Trapasso,Flavia Pichiorri,Marco Gaspari,Tiziana Palumbo,Rami I. Aqeilan,Eugenio Gaudio,Hiroshi Okumura,Rodolfo Iuliano,Giampiero Di Leva,Muller Fabbri,David E. Birk,Cinzia Raso,Kari B. Green-Church,Luigi Giusto Spagnoli,Salvatore Venuta,Kay Huebner,Carlo M. Croce +16 more
TL;DR: This article has been withdrawn by the authors because of errors that occurred in the construction of Figs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fez1/Lzts1 a new mitotic regulator implicated in cancer development.
TL;DR: Recently a new player was identified: FEZ1/LZTS1 that contributes to the fine-tuning of the molecular events that determine progression through mitosis, and here will review its role in cancer development and in M phase regulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oncosuppressor proteins of fragile sites are reduced in cervical cancer
Enrico Giarnieri,Nicola Zanesi,Arianna Bottoni,Mauro Alderisio,A. Lukic,Aldo Vecchione,Vincenzo Ziparo,Carlo M. Croce,Rita Mancini +8 more
TL;DR: WWOX may be considered as a novel important genetic marker in cervical cancer and the association between the altered expression of FHIT and WWOX might be a critical event in the progression of this neoplasia.
