TL;DR: This research proposes recommendations in improving network performance towards the changes of QoS parameters quality, which can be observed from quality changes in Quality of Service (QoS) parameters measurement result.
Abstract: Degrading or declining network performance in an installed computer network system is the most undesirable condition. There are several factors contribute to the decline of network performance, which their indications can be observed from quality changes in Quality of Service (QoS) parameters measurement result. This research proposes recommendations in improving network performance towards the changes of QoS parameters quality.

TL;DR: DCE studies of tobacco-related issues were methodologically consistent with guidelines proposed for conducting health-related DCEs and showed that DCE methodology was used to elicit smoker preferences and to evaluate tobacco-control policies.
Abstract: Background Economic evidence relating to tobacco control is generally derived from the cost effectiveness of smoking-cessation programs or the economic impact of tobacco-induced disease, based on revealed-preference data. However, empirical estimates from stated-preference data on tobacco users’ preferences, smoking behaviour and smoking cessation aids using analytical techniques such as discrete-choice experiments (DCEs) could be important for policy decision making in tobacco control.

TL;DR: Methods for extracting and analyzing DNA from wood products, such as veneers and sawn timbers made from dipterocarps, in order to identify the species from which they originated, and a chloroplast DNA database for classifying Shorea species.
Abstract: The extent of tropical forest has been declining, due to over-exploitation and illegal logging activities. Large quantities of unlawfully extracted timber and other wood products have been exported, mainly to developed countries. As part of the export monitoring effort, we have developed methods for extracting and analyzing DNA from wood products, such as veneers and sawn timbers made from dipterocarps, in order to identify the species from which they originated. We have also developed a chloroplast DNA database for classifying Shorea species, which are both ecologically and commercially important canopy tree species in the forests of Southeast Asia. We are able to determine the candidate species of wood samples, based on DNA sequences and anatomical data. The methods for analyzing DNA from dipterocarp wood products may have strong deterrent effects on international trade of illegitimate dipterocarp products. However, the method for analyzing DNA from wood is not perfect for all wood products and need for more improvement, especially for plywood sample. Consequently, there may be benefits for the conservation of tropical forests in Southeast Asia.
