TL;DR: In this paper, a review of measurement technologies for precision positioning in manufacturing industries is presented, followed by a discussion on traceability and standards, and some advanced applications of measurement technology for manufacturing industries.
Abstract: Precision positioning of an object relative to a reference point is a common task in many activities of production engineering. Sensor technologies for single axis measurement, either linear or rotary, which form the fundamentals of measurement technologies for precision positioning, are reviewed. Multi-axis coordinate measurement methods such as triangulation and multilateration, as well as Cartesian and polar systems for specifying the position in a plane or three-dimensional (3D) space are then presented, followed by a discussion on traceability and standards. Some advanced applications of measurement technologies for precision positioning in manufacturing industries are also demonstrated.

TL;DR: RNA blot analysis showed that mRNAs for BTEB and Sp1 were expressed in all tissues tested, but their concentrations varied independently in tissues, while the former mRNA was rich in the brain, kidney, lung and testis, whereas the latter was relatively abundant in the thymus and spleen.
Abstract: The cDNAs for two DNA binding proteins of BTE, a GC box sequence in the promoter region of the P-450IA1(CYP1A1) gene, have been isolated from a rat liver cDNA library by using the BTE sequence as a binding probe. While one is for the rat equivalent to human Sp1, the other encodes a primary structure of 244 amino acids, a novel DNA binding protein designated BTEB. Both proteins contain a zinc finger domain of Cys-Cys/His-His motif that is repeated three times with sequence similarity of 72% to each other, otherwise they share little or no similarity. The function of BTEB was analysed by transfection of plasmids expressing BTEB and/or Sp1 with appropriate reporter plasmids into a monkey cell line CV-1 and compared with Sp1. BTEB and Sp1 activated the expression of genes with repeated GC box sequences in promoters such as the simian virus 40 early promoter and the human immunodeficiency virus-1 long terminal repeat promoter. In contrast, BTEB repressed the activity of a promoter containing BTE, a single GC box of the CYP1A1 gene that is stimulated by Sp1. When the BTE sequence was repeated five times, however, BTEB turned out to be an activator of the promoter. RNA blot analysis showed that mRNAs for BTEB and Sp1 were expressed in all tissues tested, but their concentrations varied independently in tissues. The former mRNA was rich in the brain, kidney, lung and testis, while the latter was relatively abundant in the thymus and spleen.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

TL;DR: Results seem to indicate that polyamines are an important component in a plant's response to stress and that they play a significant role in counteracting stress.
Abstract: The present review highlights some recent advances regarding the function of polyamines in the environmental stress tolerance of plants. When exposed to adverse environmental stresses, such as salt, drought, low temperature, and ozone, the complex dynamic kinetics of polyamine biosynthesis was observed. Polyamines titers altered in different manners dependent upon several factors, such as plant species, tolerance or sensitivity to stress, and duration of stress. The exogenous addition of polyamines to stress-treated cells or tissues could lead to injury alleviation and growth promotion in most cases, although the effects varied between polyamines and among plant species. Key genes responsible for polyamine biosynthesis have been cloned from a variety of plant species, whose expressions following stress have been investigated on a molecular basis. Overexpression of the genes caused the modification of polyamine biosynthesis in the transformants coupled with enhancement of stress tolerance. All of these results seem to indicate that polyamines are an important component in a plant's response to stress and that they play a significant role in counteracting stress.

TL;DR: It is shown that autistic-like symptoms are rescued on administration of AVP and OT to young Oxtr(-/-) adult animals and that intracerebral administration of both OT and AVP lowers aggression and fully reverts social and learning defects by acting on V1a receptors and that seizure susceptibility is antagonized by peripherally administered OT.
