SARS-CoV-2 Cell Entry Depends on ACE2 and TMPRSS2 and Is Blocked by a Clinically Proven Protease Inhibitor

TLDR
It is demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 uses the SARS -CoV receptor ACE2 for entry and the serine protease TMPRSS2 for S protein priming, and it is shown that the sera from convalescent SARS patients cross-neutralized Sars-2-S-driven entry.

Aging in COVID-19: Vulnerability, immunity and intervention.

TL;DR: It is hypothesized that age-related decline and dysregulation of immune function, i.e., immunosenescence and inflammaging play a major role in contributing to heightened vulnerability to severe COVID-19 outcomes in older adults and partitioning all immunological outcome data by age to better understand disease heterogeneity and aging.

The COVID-19 pandemic

TL;DR: The available therapies to fight CO VID-19, the development of vaccines, the role of artificial intelligence in the management of the pandemic and limiting the spread of the virus, the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the authors' lifestyle, and preparation for a possible second wave are provided.

The SARS-CoV-2 main protease as drug target.

TL;DR: The SARS-CoV-2 main protease is considered a promising drug target, as it is dissimilar to human proteases, facilitating drug discovery attempts based on previous lead compounds.

Immune Response, Inflammation, and the Clinical Spectrum of COVID-19.

TL;DR: The general aspects of both COVID-19 and its etiological agent SARS-CoV-2 are described, stressing the similarities with other severe coronavirus infections, such as SARS and MERS, but more importantly, pointing toward the evidence supporting the hypothesis that the clinical spectrum of CO VID-19 is a consequence of the corresponding variable spectrum of the immune responses to the virus.

A Novel Coronavirus from Patients with Pneumonia in China, 2019.

TL;DR: Human airway epithelial cells were used to isolate a novel coronavirus, named 2019-nCoV, which formed a clade within the subgenus sarbecovirus, Orthocoronavirinae subfamily, which is the seventh member of the family of coronaviruses that infect humans.

A pneumonia outbreak associated with a new coronavirus of probable bat origin

TL;DR: Identification and characterization of a new coronavirus (2019-nCoV), which caused an epidemic of acute respiratory syndrome in humans in Wuhan, China, and it is shown that this virus belongs to the species of SARSr-CoV, indicates that the virus is related to a bat coronav virus.
