Novel loci for childhood body mass index and shared heritability with adult cardiometabolic traits.

Suzanne Vogelezang, +187 more
- 12 Oct 2020 -
TL;DR: The results suggest that the biological processes underlying childhood BMI largely, but not completely, overlap with those underlying adult BMI.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plasma concentrations of asymmetric-dimethyl-arginine in type 2 diabetes associate with glycemic control and glomerular filtration rate but not with risk factors of vasculopathy.

TL;DR: It is concluded that diabetic patients with a normal or slightly increased GFR have lower circulating ADMA concentrations than nondiabetic control subjects and in type 2 diabetic patients high GFR and poor glycemic control were related to low plasmaADMA concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of bariatric surgery on liver glucose metabolism in morbidly obese diabetic and non-diabetic patients

TL;DR: This study shows that bariatric surgery leads to a significant improvement in hepatic insulin sensitivity: insulin-stimulated hepatic glucose uptake was improved and endogenous glucose production reduced when measured, six-months, after surgery.
